Abeille Assurances is a major French insurance company born in 1856 as L'Abeille Bourguignonne, later known as CGU, CGNU and Aviva France, before reverting to its historic name in 2021 after being acquired by the French mutualist group Aéma Groupe (Macif/AÉSIO). It offers a wide range of insurance, protection, savings and retirement products to individuals, farmers, professionals and businesses through a network of general agents.

Regulatory updates
In October 2023, the ACPR Sanctions Committee issued a reprimand and a €3.5 million fine against Abeille Vie (formerly Aviva Vie) for significant deficiencies in its anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (LCB-FT) framework, following an on-site inspection conducted in 2020-2021, prior to Aéma Groupe's takeover in September 2021. Abeille Vie stated it had since remedied all the shortcomings identified.
