Regulatory updates
Otherwise, originally a commercial brand of the broker Amalfi, was placed into court-ordered receivership (redressement judiciaire) in the summer of 2021 and was acquired for €520,000 by the neo-insurer Lovys via a court ruling dated 26 September 2021, bringing roughly 4,000 clients (including 2,900 pet insurance clients) and 10 staff into Lovys. The Otherwise brand is now legally operated by Lovys SAS, registered with ORIAS under number 18001949 and supervised by the ACPR; the product range has since been narrowed to car and home insurance only, with other former lines (health, pet, professional liability) discontinued or absorbed into the Lovys brand.
