Key conditions
Territorial scope
Vehicle damage cover: Metropolitan France, EU member states, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Liechtenstein and countries not crossed out on the green card; roadside assistance for the vehicle: Metropolitan France, Monaco and green-card countries; personal assistance: Metropolitan France, Monaco and other countries for stays under 90 days, except North Korea.
Green card rules
Mandatory civil liability coverage extends to all countries not crossed out on the international motor insurance green card.
Driver restrictions
A €2,000 deductible applies per claim if the accident is caused by a driver holding a licence for less than 3 years who is not named on the contract and not personally insured; apprentice drivers are covered under the regulatory supervised-driving framework (AAC/conduite accompagnée) and cover ends once the licence is obtained.
Claim notification deadline
The insured must report any claim as soon as they become aware of it and at the latest within the deadline set by the contract; in case of theft, a police report must be filed and the original submitted to the insurer.
Bonus-malus rules
The bonus/malus coefficient is set at 1 upon signing a first motor insurance contract and evolves with claims history; policyholders with a 0.50 bonus and no at-fault claim for 3 years benefit from an additional 'super bonus' discount of up to 15%, and the deductible is reduced by 20% per claim-free year, reaching zero after 5 years.
