Direct payment

In the partner-workshop tariffs (Classic and Premium Partner), Concordia alone commissions the repair and directly bears the cost of the repair at its selected workshop; the customer only pays an agreed deductible to the workshop after the repair is completed.

Geographic scope

Nationwide (Germany)

Cover applies within the geographical boundaries of Europe and the non-European territories belonging to the EU.

Unique selling points

  • No 'new for old' deduction on repairs, except for EV/hybrid drive batteries after the third operating year.
  • Waiver of the gross-negligence objection in comprehensive cover across all tariffs.
  • New-price compensation for up to 36 months after first registration, plus purchase-price compensation for used cars up to 9 years old (Premium/Premium Partner).
  • Optional oecodrive package for EVs/hybrids: all-risk cover for the drive battery, up to €20,000 for animal-bite/short-circuit consequential damage, and co-insurance of the customer's own charging station up to €3,000.
  • 6-year repair warranty on work carried out at a Concordia partner workshop.

Coverage limits

Own damage (comprehensive)

Covered

Vollkasko covers damage to the insured vehicle from accidents (including self-caused), vandalism and all Teilkasko perils. Compensation is based on the replacement value (Wiederbeschaffungswert) minus residual value; for new vehicles, new-price compensation (Neupreisentschädigung) applies if total loss or theft occurs within 36 months (Premium/Premium Partner) or 6 months (Classic) of first registration.

Total loss / theft compensation

Covered

On total loss, destruction or theft, Concordia pays the replacement value minus residual value. New-price compensation applies to new vehicles for a total loss/theft within 36 months (Premium/Premium Partner) or 6 months (Classic) of first registration; purchase-price compensation applies to used vehicles up to 9 years old for 36 months after purchase, available only in Premium and Premium Partner.

Source

Partial damage / repair costs

Covered

Vollkasko pays repair costs up to the replacement value with no 'new for old' deduction (except the drive battery of EVs/hybrids after 3 years). Teilkasko only covers repair costs for the specifically named perils (fire, theft, glass, animal collision, short circuit, etc.), not general accident damage.

Source

Theft and robbery

Covered

Teilkasko (and therefore also Vollkasko) covers theft, robbery, extortion-induced surrender, embezzlement (only if the vehicle was not entrusted to the perpetrator) and unauthorized use (only if the perpetrator had no authorization at all to use the vehicle).

Source

Glass breakage

Covered

Covers breakage of the vehicle's glazing (windows, mirror glass, light covers) but excludes glass of measurement/assistance/camera systems, displays and follow-on damage. The deductible is waived for a professional repair without replacement carried out by a firm commissioned by Concordia, in all tariffs.

Natural hazards

Conditional

Base natural perils (storm from wind force 8, hail, lightning, flood) are covered in all Pkw tariffs. Extended natural hazards (avalanches incl. roof avalanches, landslides/mudslides, subsidence, earthquake, volcanic eruption) are only included for Pkw in tariffs Premium and Premium Partner, and are not covered in Classic.

Vandalism

Covered

Vollkasko covers damage caused by malicious acts of unauthorized third parties (vandalism), including a hacker/cyber attack on the vehicle's software. This peril is not covered under a Teilkasko-only contract.

Roadside assistance (MobilPlus)

Optional

MobilPlusversicherung is a separate, optional contract. If the incident is reported immediately to Concordia's emergency hotline and Concordia organizes the service, costs for roadside repair, towing (and, for EVs, towing to the nearest charging station) are covered without limit; if self-organized, costs are capped (roadside repair €150–200, towing €200–300). A rental car is provided up to €75–100/day for a maximum of 7 days, plus overnight stays up to €80/night (max. 3 nights).

Replacement vehicle & pick-up/drop-off service

Optional

Only in Premium Partner, Classic

Optional add-on ('Ersatzwagen sowie Hol- und Bringservice'), bookable for Pkw in tariff Premium Partner or Classic against extra premium. Provides pick-up/drop-off of the vehicle to/from the Concordia partner workshop even under 15 km distance, plus a category A (compact) replacement vehicle for up to 5 days during repair; not available for pure glass-breakage repairs.

Driver accident (Fahrerschutzversicherung)

€15,000,000

Separate, optional Fahrerschutzversicherung covering personal injury of the authorized driver from an accident while driving the insured vehicle. Requires an accident-related hospital stay of at least 3 days within 6 months (waived if the driver dies). Per-event sub-limits: pain and suffering up to €200,000; loss of earnings up to €4,000/month; maintenance claims up to €3,000/month; household-help costs up to €1,000/month; disability-adapted conversion up to €200,000; funeral costs up to €7,500; other increased needs up to €2,000/month. Total liability per event is capped at the MTPL per-person sum, maximum €15 million.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

The vehicle may only be driven by the drivers named in the policy (Anhang 6, No. 1.2); occasional driving by the policyholder's own child is permitted under specific conditions. Driver/policyholder age is used as a premium rating factor, and preferential no-claims entry rules (e.g. the 'verbesserte Zweitwagenregelung') require the policyholder and all drivers to be at least 23 years old. No absolute minimum driving experience is stated for basic cover.

Repair network requirements

Classic includes mandatory use of Concordia's partner workshop network for casco repairs; 'Premium Partner' is the Premium tariff with mandatory partner-workshop use added; standard Premium allows free workshop choice. Repairing elsewhere without prior contact with Concordia reduces the payout to 85% of the otherwise calculated benefit; if the vehicle is not repaired at all, compensation is calculated as if it had been repaired at the nearest partner workshop (net of VAT). These partner-workshop rules apply only to damage events in Germany. Concordia grants a 6-year warranty on repairs carried out in its selected partner workshop. Classic and Premium Partner cannot be selected for electric passenger cars with a drive battery.

Territorial scope

Comprehensive cover (Fahrzeugversicherung) applies within the geographical boundaries of Europe and the non-European territories belonging to the EU.

Anti-theft requirements

No specific anti-theft device (e.g. an immobiliser) is required for casco cover (A.2.5.1.5 is marked 'entfällt' / not applicable). However, the waiver of the gross-negligence objection does not apply if the policyholder grossly negligently enables the theft of the vehicle or its parts, and the vehicle must be kept in a lock-up garage or an enclosed parking area during a (chargeable) Ruheversicherung while de-registered.

Claim notification deadline

Any claim event must be reported within one week (E.1.1.1). Theft, fire, or animal-damage claims exceeding €1,000 must additionally be reported to the police immediately (E.1.3.2). Property claims up to €1,000 may be settled privately and reported later, by the end of the calendar year (E.1.1.3/E.1.1.4). In the event of theft, compensation is paid no earlier than one month after the claim notification (A.2.5.8.1/A.2.7.3).

Deductible rules

An agreed deductible is deducted from compensation for each claim event (A.2.5.11.1). The deductible is waived for the professional repair of a glass-breakage claim without replacement, carried out by a firm commissioned by Concordia, in all tariffs (A.2.5.11.2). Under the optional VK-Plus add-on, no deductible or no-claims downgrade applies to misfuelling or key-loss claims. In partner-workshop tariffs, the deductible is paid by the customer directly to the workshop after the repair.
