Feuersozietät Berlin Brandenburg Versicherung Aktiengesellschaft
Feuersozietät
Feuersozietät is a motor casco insurance for the Germany market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
If the optional 'Werkstatt Service' (Partnerwerkstatt) agreement is chosen, the insurer settles repair costs directly with a designated partner workshop or glass specialist; without this agreement, the customer pays and is reimbursed against invoice, capped at the cost a partner workshop would have charged if the vehicle was not repaired at a designated workshop.
Geographic scope
Berlin and Brandenburg (insurer's core sales region); policy sold via Sparkassen and agency network
Coverage applies within the geographical borders of Europe and the non-European territories of EU member states; can be extended to further non-European countries listed on an International Insurance Card (Green Card) not struck through
Unique selling points
- Gross negligence by the policyholder does not reduce the claim payout, unlike many competitors who apply proportional cuts.
- No 'new-for-old' wear deduction is applied on repairs, including for electric/hybrid vehicle traction batteries.
- VollkaskoPLUS extends cover to virtually all further risks the vehicle is exposed to, plus up to €100,000 per year for damage the policyholder causes to their own other insured property.
- Telematics-based 'Kfz Vario FahrStil' program grants an immediate 30% start discount and up to 45% ongoing discount for safe driving, rewarded via a free sensor and app.
Coverage limits
Own damage to the insured vehicle (Kasko)
Covered
Covers the insured car against damage, destruction, total loss or loss resulting from events under partial casco (Teilkasko) or full casco (Vollkasko). Maximum indemnity is capped at the vehicle's new price (Neupreis); factory-fitted parts/accessories are co-insured up to €5,000 per claim (base) or €20,000 per claim under Teilkasko/VollkaskoPLUS.
Total loss, destruction or theft settlement
Covered
Pays the replacement value (Wiederbeschaffungswert) less residual value. New-price compensation (Neupreisentschädigung) applies if the loss occurs within 6 months of first registration (base Kernschutz), extended to 24 months under VollkaskoPLUS, provided the owner bought the vehicle new from a manufacturer/dealer.
Repair costs for damage (partial loss)
Covered
Reimburses repair costs up to the replacement value if fully and properly repaired (against invoice), otherwise up to replacement value less residual value. Disposal, towage and OEM-price surcharges are also reimbursed against invoice; 'new-for-old' deductions are waived (A.2.9.5).
Theft and robbery
Covered
Covers theft, robbery, unauthorized use (under conditions) and embezzlement of the vehicle or its co-insured parts. A percentage deduction applies to theft claims unless the vehicle was secured with a recognized immobilizer (Wegfahrsperre) at the time of theft. TeilkaskoPLUS additionally grants a free courtesy vehicle (one class lower) for up to one month after theft.
Glass breakage
Covered
Covers breakage of the vehicle's glazing (windscreen, rear, roof, side and partition glass, mirror glass, light covers); glass/plastic parts of assistance, camera or information systems, solar modules, displays, monitors and bulbs are excluded, as are consequential damages. If the 'Partnerwerkstatt' service is agreed, reimbursement requires use of the designated glass specialist.
Natural hazards
Covered
Base cover includes storm (wind force 8+), hail, lightning, avalanche and flood. TeilkaskoPLUS/VollkaskoPLUS extend this to earthquake, ground subsidence, landslide, volcanic eruption and roof avalanches (Dachlawine).
Vandalism / malicious damage
Conditional
Only in Vollkasko, VollkaskoPLUS
Malicious or spiteful acts by unauthorised third parties are covered only under Vollkasko/VollkaskoPLUS core cover; Teilkasko explicitly excludes vandalism and accident damage per both IPIDs.
Roadside assistance / breakdown cover (Schutzbrief)
Optional
Not part of the Kasko contract itself. The Schutzbrief (breakdown and accident assistance) can only be taken out together with the MTPL (Kfz-Haftpflicht) contract for the same vehicle, not as a Kasko add-on. It covers on-site breakdown help, towing, recovery and, from 50 km away from home, return/onward travel, accommodation, rental car and repatriation assistance.
Courtesy / replacement vehicle after theft
Conditional
Only in TeilkaskoPLUS, VollkaskoPLUS
Under TeilkaskoPLUS (also included in VollkaskoPLUS), a free replacement vehicle one rental class lower is provided after theft of the insured vehicle, until the recovered vehicle is repaired or a new vehicle is purchased, limited to one month from the time of theft. A separate rental-car benefit (up to €70/day, max 7 days) also exists under the Schutzbrief rider, which is tied to the MTPL contract, not to Kasko.
Motor accident (occupant) insurance
Optional
A separately selectable insurance type (not automatically part of Kasko) paying agreed lump sums to vehicle occupants for invalidity or death; sums are stated in the policy schedule. Not included in the Vario Kasko core contract itself.
Key conditions
Driver age and experience limit
No blanket coverage restriction by driver age. However, a favourable SF-Klasse 2 no-claims rating requires the vehicle to be driven only by persons aged 25 or older (or resident family members); if this condition later lapses, the contract is downgraded to SF-Klasse 1/2.
Repair network requirements
Free choice of repair shop applies by default. If the optional 'Werkstatt Service' (Partnerwerkstatt agreement) has been selected, repair costs and glass-damage repairs are only reimbursed in full if a workshop/glass specialist designated by the insurer is used; otherwise reimbursement is capped at the cost that workshop would have charged.
Territorial scope
Cover applies within the geographical borders of Europe and the non-European territories of EU member states. The scope can be contractually extended or restricted; an International Insurance Card (Green Card) extends both MTPL and Kasko cover to further listed non-European countries.
Anti-theft requirements
In the event of theft, a percentage deduction is applied to the indemnity unless the vehicle was fitted with a recognized immobilizer (Wegfahrsperre) at the time of theft, in which case the insurer waives the deduction (the standard deductible still applies).
Claim notification deadline
Any claim event must generally be reported within one week. Theft of the vehicle or co-insured parts must be reported immediately in text form. Theft, fire, animal or vandalism damage exceeding €500 must additionally be reported to the police without delay.
Deductible rules
A deductible, if agreed, is deducted from the indemnity for each claim event per insured vehicle; the amount is shown in the policy schedule and is individually negotiable (typically around €150–€500 for Teilkasko and €300–€1,000 for Vollkasko), and affects the premium.
