Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

Regular use of the vehicle by third parties is only permitted if they are at least 23 years old; the 'Begleitetes Fahren mit 17' programme allows 17-year-old learner drivers to be added without extra premium surcharges when accompanied.

Repair network requirements

Policyholders who let ÖSA select the repair shop via the Werkstattservice benefit from free pickup/delivery, a courtesy car, and an extended repair warranty (up to 6 years instead of the standard 2 years); if a different workshop is used without prior contact, ÖSA only reimburses 85% of the otherwise calculated benefit.

Territorial scope

Comprehensive cover applies within the geographical boundaries of Europe and the non-European territories belonging to the EU; coverage can be extended to further non-European countries listed on the International Motor Insurance Card.

Anti-theft requirements

Key/lock replacement after a break-in or robbery is only covered if the keys were not stolen from inside the vehicle or from a key safe attached to the vehicle; unlawful acquisition of access data for keyless entry systems is treated as theft of the vehicle keys.

Claim notification deadline

Any loss event must generally be reported within one week; theft or loss of the vehicle or insured parts must be reported immediately in writing, and theft, fire or animal-collision damage exceeding EUR 500 must be reported to the police immediately.

Deductible rules

An agreed deductible is subtracted from the claim payment for every loss event and every insured vehicle, as stated in the policy schedule; the deductible is waived for a professionally repaired glass-breakage claim if the policyholder uses the workshop selected by ÖSA.
