Direct payment

Under the optional Schadenservice+ add-on, Württembergische settles the repair invoice directly with its chosen certified partner workshop; the policyholder only pays the agreed deductible directly to the workshop. Without Schadenservice+, repair costs are reimbursed to the policyholder up to the calculated cap.

Geographic scope

Europe and the non-European territories belonging to the European Union

Cover applies within the geographical borders of Europe and the non-European territories of the EU; scope may extend further for MTPL if a Green Card has been issued

Unique selling points

  • Waives the defense of gross negligence in both KompaktSchutz and PremiumSchutz comprehensive cover, except in cases of theft, alcohol or drugs.
  • The optional Kasko+ extension raises new/purchase-price indemnity after a total loss from the standard 24 months to 48 months for owned or financed vehicles.
  • PremiumSchutz includes an all-risk cover for the EV/hybrid battery, going beyond the perils otherwise listed in the policy.
  • Waives the usual 'new-for-old' wear deduction when damaged parts are replaced with new ones or the vehicle is repainted.
  • No deductible is charged when a windscreen chip is repaired, rather than replaced, at a recommended partner workshop.

Coverage limits

Accident damage to the insured vehicle

Covered

Covers damage to the insured vehicle caused by an accident (a sudden external event acting on the vehicle with mechanical force). Included in both KompaktSchutz and PremiumSchutz; settled up to the replacement value (Wiederbeschaffungswert) of the vehicle, less any residual value.

Source

Total loss / new-price or purchase-price indemnity

Conditional

On total loss, destruction or loss of the vehicle, the insurer pays the replacement value; alternatively, within a limited period after first registration, the new price (new vehicles) or purchase price (used vehicles) is paid instead: 12 months in KompaktSchutz; 24 months in PremiumSchutz, extended to 48 months if the optional Kasko+ extension is added.

Source

Repair cost reimbursement (partial damage)

Covered

If the vehicle is damaged, repair costs are reimbursed up to the replacement value (Wiederbeschaffungswert) when the vehicle is fully and properly repaired; if not properly repaired, reimbursement is capped at the replacement value less residual value. Included in both KompaktSchutz and PremiumSchutz.

Source

Theft and robbery (partial/total)

Covered

Covers theft, robbery and surrender of the vehicle due to robbery-related extortion, settled up to the replacement value. Included in both KompaktSchutz and PremiumSchutz. A separate benefit reimburses theft of a portable navigation device from a locked vehicle up to EUR 300, tapering with device age.

Source

Glass breakage

20% of insured sum

Covers breakage damage to the vehicle's glazing (windscreen, rear/side windows, mirror glass, light covers); repairs are reimbursed against invoice with no follow-on damage cover. On total loss/destruction, glass replacement parts (excluding labour) are reimbursed up to 20% of the vehicle's replacement value. Included in both KompaktSchutz and PremiumSchutz; no deductible applies if a windscreen chip is repaired (not replaced) at a recommended partner workshop.

Source

Natural hazards (storm, hail, flood, etc.)

Covered

Covers direct impact on the vehicle from storm (wind force 8+), hail, lightning, flood, snow/ice avalanches, landslides, rockfall, ground subsidence, earthquake and volcanic eruption, including objects thrown onto the vehicle by these forces. Included in both KompaktSchutz and PremiumSchutz, settled up to the replacement value.

Source

Vandalism (malicious acts by third parties)

Covered

Covers malicious or reckless damage caused by persons not authorised to use the vehicle. Included in both KompaktSchutz and PremiumSchutz as part of the comprehensive (Vollkasko) cover.

Roadside assistance / breakdown cover (Schutzbrief)

Optional

The Schutzbrief is a separate, legally independent contract that can be taken out alongside CASCO. It provides roadside breakdown help (up to EUR 150), towing (up to EUR 200), vehicle storage (up to 14 days), and a rental car (7 days at up to EUR 70/day domestically, up to EUR 700 abroad), among other travel-assistance benefits, in both KompaktSchutz and PremiumSchutz.

Source

Free replacement vehicle during repair (Schadenservice+)

Optional

Under the optional Schadenservice+ deckungserweiterung, the policyholder can receive a free replacement vehicle of the smallest category (small car) for the duration of a repair carried out at a workshop chosen by the insurer; fuel costs are not covered and this benefit does not apply to glass-damage claims. Available as an optional add-on in both KompaktSchutz and PremiumSchutz.

Driver personal-injury cover (Fahrer-Schutzversicherung)

€15,000,000

The Fahrer-Schutzversicherung is a separate, legally independent contract compensating the authorised driver's own personal injury (e.g. loss of earnings, survivors' pension, pain and suffering, adapted housing costs) from an accident while driving, as if a third party were liable. Benefits are capped at the personal-injury sum insured of the Kfz-Haftpflichtversicherung, i.e. up to EUR 15 million per injured person within the EUR 100 million blanket sum.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

The optional Rabatt-Schutz (no-claims protection) only applies if the driver is at least 23 years old at the time of the claim; if the driver was younger, the claim leads to a standard downgrade. Separately, 17-year-old drivers may only use the vehicle under the BF17 accompanied-driving scheme, with a named accompanying person and never after that person has consumed alcohol or drugs.

Repair network requirements

Full Schadenservice+ benefits (pick-up/drop-off service, free replacement vehicle, cleaning, 6-year repair warranty) apply only if the vehicle is repaired at a certified workshop chosen by Württembergische; if repaired elsewhere, reimbursement is based on the rates of the nearest partner workshop and those extra services are excluded. A windscreen-chip repair (rather than a full replacement) carried out at a recommended partner workshop is exempt from the deductible.

Territorial scope

Cover applies within the geographical borders of Europe and the non-European territories belonging to the European Union.

Anti-theft requirements

No cover for vehicle-key/access-code theft if the keys were stolen during a break-in into the insured vehicle itself. Theft of a portable navigation device or dashcam is only covered if the device was secured to the vehicle by a mount or kept in a locked, non-visible glovebox/boot and no other insurance applies.

Claim notification deadline

Claims that may trigger a benefit must generally be reported within one week; theft, robbery or loss of the vehicle or its parts must be reported immediately (unverzüglich) in text form. Theft, fire or animal-collision damage exceeding EUR 500 must additionally be reported to the police immediately.

Deductible rules

The agreed deductible is deducted from the indemnity for each claim event and each insured vehicle. For claims arising from unforeseen brake, operational or breakdown damage (PremiumSchutz only), an additional EUR 500 deductible applies per event, waived for damage caused by charging errors or over/under-voltage when charging an EV/hybrid battery. No deductible is applied if a windscreen chip is repaired (rather than replaced) at a recommended partner workshop.
