Direct payment

If the policyholder reports the loss to AXA first, AXA is obligated to settle justified claims directly rather than requiring the policyholder to pay and seek reimbursement.

Geographic scope

Germany

Covers vehicles registered in Germany; the Mallorca Police extends third-party cover to driving foreign/rental vehicles within Europe (mobil online, mobil kompakt) or worldwide excluding the USA and Canada (mobil komfort). The International Green Card is issued on request for use abroad.

Unique selling points

  • Flat 100 million euro liability sum in every tariff, well above the statutory minimum, with up to 15 million euros per injured person.
  • Mallorca-Police (foreign/rental vehicle liability rider) is included as standard in all three tariffs, not sold as a paid extra.
  • Instant electronic insurance confirmation (eVB) delivered by SMS immediately after completing the online purchase.
  • Policyholders can reach AXA around the clock from abroad via a dedicated international phone line.
  • The International Green Card is issued free of charge within a few days on request for travel abroad.

Coverage limits

Bodily Injury Liability

€100,000,000

The Motor Third-Party Liability Insurance provides a flat 100 million euro sum covering personal injury, property and pure financial loss claims, with a sub-limit of up to 15 million euros per injured person for personal injury damages. Applies uniformly across mobil online, mobil kompakt and mobil komfort.

Property Damage Liability

€100,000,000

Defence Against Unjustified Claims

Covered

If the policyholder is not liable for a reported loss, AXA takes over the defence against the claim, including necessary court costs, as part of the motor liability cover.

International (Green) Insurance Card

Covered

AXA sends the International Insurance Card (Green Card) free of charge within a few days upon request, serving as proof of insurance abroad where the license-plate agreement does not apply.

Roadside Assistance (Schutzbrief)

Optional

The Schutzbrief is a legally separate, optional add-on to the motor liability contract that covers breakdown/accident assistance, towing, replacement vehicle and overnight accommodation costs, addable for a small extra premium.

Source

Driver Protection Insurance (Fahrerschutz)

€5,000,000 – €10,000,000

Optional Fahrerschutz add-on compensates the driver for personal injury under German tort-law principles when no other insurer pays, up to 5 million euros per claim in mobil online and mobil kompakt, and up to 10 million euros per claim in mobil komfort.

Occupant Accident Insurance (Kfz-Unfallversicherung)

Optional

Optional, legally separate accident cover paying a fixed, customer-selected sum insured to the driver and passengers in case of accident; not a fixed statutory amount and typically lower than the Fahrerschutz alternative.

Key conditions

Territorial scope

Standard cover applies within Germany; the Mallorca-Police (foreign-vehicle liability rider) is included in all three tariffs and covers Europe within mobil online and mobil kompakt, extending worldwide except the USA and Canada in mobil komfort.

Green card rules

In much of Europe the license-plate agreement means the Green Card is no longer required as proof of insurance, but AXA still issues it free of charge within a few days on request to ease claims handling abroad.

Driver restrictions

Source

Claim notification deadline

Schäden müssen laut AKB "unverzüglich" gemeldet werden; in der Praxis gilt eine Frist von etwa einer Woche nach dem Schadenereignis als angemessen.

Source

Bonus-malus rules

The no-claims discount class (Schadenfreiheitsklasse) reflects the number of claim-free years and determines the premium level; mobil online and mobil kompakt do not offer discount protection, while an optional discount-protection add-on can be selected on certain tariffs.
