EUROPA Versicherung AG (trading as EUROPA-go)
EUROPA-go
EUROPA-go is a motor third-party liability insurance for the Germany market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
EUROPA-go is authorized to settle or defend claims raised against the policyholder and co-insured persons directly and in the policyholder's name, paying justified third-party claims directly in cash and defending unfounded claims at its own expense.
Geographic scope
Germany (nationwide)
Coverage applies within the geographic borders of Europe and the non-European territories that belong to the European Union; with an International Motor Insurance Card, cover also extends to additional non-European countries listed on the card unless crossed out.
Unique selling points
- Flat EUR 100 million lump-sum liability cover across personal injury, property damage, financial loss and environmental damage — far above the statutory minimum.
- Bodily injury liability capped at EUR 15 million per injured person, well above typical market minimums.
- Built-in environmental damage cover (Kfz-USV) up to EUR 5 million per event and EUR 10 million per year, automatically included in the liability policy.
- 24/7 accident and breakdown hotline with fully digital, stress-free online claims reporting.
- Optional Mallorca cover extends liability protection to rental cars abroad in countries with lower mandatory insurance limits (Komfort tariff).
Coverage limits
Bodily Injury Liability
€15,000,000
Personal injury claims are covered up to EUR 15 million per injured person, within the overall flat EUR 100 million sum insured that also covers property, financial and environmental damage. Identical in both the Basis and Komfort tariffs.
Property & Financial Loss Liability
€100,000,000
Property damage and pure financial loss claims are covered under a flat, pooled sum insured of EUR 100 million per claim, shared with personal injury and environmental damage claims, well above the statutory minimum. Identical in both the Basis and Komfort tariffs.
Legal Defence Against Unfounded Claims
Covered
If third-party claims against the policyholder are unfounded, either in whole or in part regarding the amount, EUROPA-go defends them at its own cost, including the appointment of a lawyer on the policyholder's behalf where needed.
International Motor Insurance Card (Green Card)
Covered
Where issued, the international insurance card extends MTPL cover to the non-European countries listed on the card, unless the country name is crossed out, at the scope required in the country visited or the policy scope if greater.
Roadside Assistance / Motor Protection Letter (Kfz-Schutzbrief)
Optional
The Kfz-Schutzbrief is a legally separate, optional add-on contract that can only be taken out together with the MTPL policy for the same vehicle. It provides roadside assistance, towing, and travel assistance services (e.g. breakdown recovery, replacement driver, repatriation) as a service or cost reimbursement.

No limit stated
No dedicated driver accident (personal accident) cover within the MTPL product was found in the reviewed sources.
Passenger Accident Cover
No limit stated
No dedicated passenger accident (personal accident) cover within the MTPL product was found in the reviewed sources.
Key conditions
Territorial scope
Cover applies within the geographic borders of Europe and the non-European territories that are part of the EU; scope follows the legally mandated level in the country visited, but never less than the contractual scope.
Green card rules
If the international insurance card (Green Card) has been issued, cover extends to the non-European countries listed on it, provided the country name is not crossed out.
Driver restrictions
The vehicle may only be used by an authorized driver holding the legally required driving licence; it must not be driven, or knowingly allowed to be driven, by anyone under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants that impair safe driving.
Claim notification deadline
Any event that could trigger a claim must be reported in text form (e.g. letter, fax, e-mail) within one week; reporting the claim immediately to the 24-hour accident and breakdown hotline also counts as notification.
Bonus-malus rules
The contract is classified into no-claims discount classes (SF classes, e.g. SF 1/2 up to SF 50) based on claims history; a claim-free calendar year leads to an improved classification, while a claim-burdened year leads to a downgrade according to the tables in Annex 1 of the AKB.
