Verti Versicherung AG
Verti
Verti is a motor third-party liability insurance for the Germany market with online purchase and 24/7 assistance.
Direct payment
Verti's MTPL conditions do not describe a general direct-settlement guarantee for the policyholder's own damages; the AKB states that once liability is established, Verti pays compensation in money ("Sind Schadenersatzansprüche begründet, leisten wir Schadenersatz in Geld"), implying reimbursement rather than automatic direct payment to a provider. However, for a third-party injured in an accident, that party has free choice of repair shop because the liability insurer of the at-fault driver settles the claim, and workshops can be paid directly by the insurer if the customer signs an assignment declaration (Abtretungserklärung) transferring the claim to the workshop.
Geographic scope
Germany
Coverage applies in Europe and the non-European territories that belong to the European Union; environmental damage cover also extends to European Economic Area states applying the EU Environmental Liability Directive.

Coverage limits
Bodily injury / combined liability sum
€100,000,000
Verti's motor third-party liability provides a pooled per-claim limit of EUR 100 million covering personal injury, property damage and pure financial loss combined, with a sublimit of EUR 15 million per injured person, well above Germany's statutory minimum of EUR 7.5 million for personal injury.
Property damage liability (pooled sum)
€100,000,000
Property damage claims are covered within the same pooled EUR 100 million per-claim liability limit shared with bodily injury and financial loss claims, exceeding the statutory minimum of EUR 1.12 million for property damage. Environmental liability claims under the Umweltschadengesetz are included up to EUR 5 million per claim within this sum.
Defence against unfounded liability claims
Covered
Verti indemnifies the policyholder and co-insured persons against justified third-party claims and defends unfounded claims on their behalf; if a claim is disputed in or out of court, Verti conducts the litigation and may appoint a lawyer in the policyholder's name. This defence cost is included within the agreed liability sum with no separate limit stated.
Green card
Covered
Vehicle protection letter (breakdown/accident assistance)
unlimited
The Fahrzeugschutzbrief is a separate, legally independent contract. Roadside recovery and towing costs are covered without limit if the policyholder immediately calls Verti and Verti organises the assistance; if the policyholder organises recovery themselves, reimbursement is capped at EUR 110 (roadside repair) / EUR 160 (towing), or EUR 60 / EUR 80 if arranged via a third party such as an automobile club.
Driver protection (Fahrerschutz) accident cover
€500
Fahrerschutz is a separate, legally independent Kfz-Unfallversicherung reimbursing the driver's actual personal-injury losses (loss of earnings, household help, pain and suffering, home retrofitting, survivor's pension) as if a liable third party existed. The insured sum is fixed individually in the policy schedule; nursing-cost reimbursement is capped at EUR 5,000 per month.
Family accident cover "Kind & Kegel" (occupant accident insurance)
€50,000
A separate, legally independent Kfz-Unfallversicherung for the driver and all passengers. The invalidity capital sum is EUR 50,000 per person, and a death benefit of EUR 15,000 is paid if the insured dies within one year of the accident. With two or more eligible occupants, the total sum increases by 50% and is divided among all occupants.
Key conditions
Territorial scope
Coverage applies in Europe and non-European territories belonging to the EU; environmental liability cover also applies across the EEA where the EU Environmental Liability Directive applies.
Green card rules
No specific Green Card rules are stated in the reviewed AKB documents; only the general European/EU territorial scope is defined for liability cover.
Driver restrictions
Drivers under 24 must be reported to Verti in advance; using the vehicle without notification triggers retroactive premium recalculation and, in Kasko, a EUR 2,500 deductible. The vehicle may not be driven if the driver cannot safely operate it due to alcohol or other intoxicants (possible already from 0.3 per mille).
Claim notification deadline
Policyholders must report any claim immediately, and at the latest within one week of becoming aware of it.
Bonus-malus rules
Liability and comprehensive cover are rated under a no-claims-class (Schadenfreiheitsklassen, SF) system with annual re-rating on 1 January based on the prior year's claims history; a claim-free year moves the contract to the next better SF class, while claims trigger a downgrade per the SF tables, with special tariffs (e.g. second-vehicle, couple-saver, protected SF class) available under conditions.
Policy specifics
Motor sport exclusion
Liability coverage excludes damages from vehicle use at motor sport events, races, competitions, or activities involving speed contests unless separate motor sport liability insurance is held per Pflichtversicherungsgesetz (PflVG) § 5d
SourceDriving under influence exclusion
For car liability insurance, the vehicle may not be driven or allowed to be driven if the driver is unable to do so safely due to consumption of alcoholic beverages or other intoxicating substances
SourceStatutory minimum coverage limits
Car liability insurance must cover at least EUR 7.5 million for personal injury, EUR 1.12 million for property damage, and EUR 50,000 for pure financial loss, as required by German law
SourceBenefit reduction for breach of fundamental duties
For car liability insurance, in case of breach of fundamental duties or increase in hazard, Verti's benefit reduction is limited to a maximum of EUR 5,000 per insured person, except where the driver obtained the vehicle through criminal conduct
SourceGeographic coverage area
Car liability insurance coverage applies within Europe and the non-European territories that belong to the European Union
SourceExcluded driver surcharge and re-rating
If a driver under 24 years who is excluded from coverage operates the vehicle in a claim scenario, Verti may impose additional deductible of EUR 2,500 in comprehensive coverage and recalculate premiums based on that driver's profile
SourceDriver change notification requirement
Policyholders must notify Verti of all drivers who will operate the vehicle; failure to report additional drivers triggers retroactive premium recalculation and potential surcharges for unreported driver profiles
SourceIntentional damage exclusion
Car liability coverage does not apply to damages intentionally and unlawfully caused by the insured
