Source

Pre-existing conditions

Key conditions

Assistance call deadline

No specific hour-based deadline for calling the emergency service is stated in the current T&Cs; the insured must keep the claim as small as possible, provide correct and complete information, and undergo an examination by a doctor appointed by the insurer if required.

Unauthorized treatment

Intentional breach of contractual duties (e.g. false statements, withholding requested documents) leads to loss of the benefit claim; grossly negligent breach allows the insurer to reduce the benefit proportionally to the severity of fault.

Purchase while abroad

The contract must be concluded at the latest one day before the start of the trip; the T&Cs for this product do not provide for taking out the policy after the trip has already begun.

Chronic conditions

Treatment for a chronic condition is excluded only where its necessity was already established before departure and it results from an illness already diagnosed before the trip; otherwise medically necessary treatment during the trip is covered.

Pregnancy

Coverage during pregnancy is limited to medically necessary examinations/treatment for complications, miscarriage, medically necessary termination, and delivery up to the end of week 36; routine, uncomplicated prenatal care is not the subject of this benefit.

Pre-existing condition exclusions

No benefit is paid for treatment whose necessity was already established before departure due to an illness already medically diagnosed before the trip, except when the trip was made due to the death of a spouse/partner or first-degree relative.

Coverage duration limit

Cover lasts for the agreed period, up to a maximum of 365 days; if the return is delayed for reasons beyond the insured's control (e.g. inability to travel, force majeure), cover is extended until the end of the trip without a fixed additional day limit stated.
