Unique selling points
  • Comprehensive base protection includes three mandatory coverages in one contract: collision/breakage, natural perils and fire, and glass damage — cannot be broken up.
  • Built-in bonus system with up to 10 discount classes (C0–C10); bonus earned can be transferred from another insurer if breakage coverage was included, within 1 year of previous contract end.
  • Wide range of unique optional add-ons rarely offered by competitors: pothole damage, rodent damage, active claims handling (direct settlement against third-party insurer), pet accident cover, and data recovery insurance.
  • No depreciation applied to bodywork elements for vehicles up to 8 years old, ensuring full market-value reimbursement for newer cars.
  • 24-hour roadside assistance available as an add-on with dispatch within 45 minutes domestically, and includes loan vehicle, hotel accommodation or onward travel arrangement when same-day repair is not possible.
  • Purchase price insurance (vételár biztosítás) in the Max package pays up to HUF 6,000,000 to cover the gap between purchase-time new value and loss-time value for cars up to 12 months old.
  • 10% online discount is automatically applied when the policy is taken out on allianz.hu, with an additional 5% for simultaneous KGFB + Casco Max bundle purchase.
  • Glass damage deductible is waived entirely if the windscreen or glass can be repaired without replacement (chip repair), avoiding the standard HUF 75,000 deductible.
  • Free choice of repair: casco claims can be settled via cash payment, any contracted Allianz repair partner, or any independent workshop – no network lock-in.
  • Comprehensive EV coverage: casco coverages extend to the EV battery, charging cable, wall box, and adapter for accident, theft, and fire damage, including batteries financed separately via leasing.
  • Built-in free travel insurance (Genertel group policy) for Optimál Prémium and Optimál Extra policyholders covering unlimited foreign trips per year up to 30 days each, with up to HUF 5,000,000 medical/rescue expenses — included at no extra premium.
  • Free Smart Mobility package (misfuelling insurance up to HUF 50,000/year + 24/7 roadside assistance for mechanical failure and tyre punctures) included at no additional cost with Optimál, Optimál Extra and Optimál Prémium variants.
  • Wide pan-European territorial scope covering 47 countries as standard — extending far beyond the Green Card territory, including the European parts of Turkey and Ukraine, without extra endorsement.
  • No-deductible glass repair: when a cracked windscreen or window can be repaired without replacement, the insurer applies zero deductible — providing hassle-free cover for the most common claim type.
  • Automatic annual premium adjustment mechanism (JCKF28 XII. fejezet) tied to the average of KSH vehicle-parts and vehicle-repair price indices and CPI, with a 5% floor — providing transparent, index-linked pricing rather than discretionary insurer increases.
  • New replacement parts reimbursed for vehicles under 8 years old on partial loss claims – no depreciation deduction applied (except exhaust, battery, and tyres).
  • Rodent damage (marten, mice, rat cable chewing) included free of charge as a named insured event in all three packages – not an extra-cost add-on.
  • Reduced deductible advantage for glass and theft-attempt claims: only the percentage deductible (not the minimum amount) is charged, and the bonus class is not downgraded.
  • Auto+ direct repair service: Groupama handles all administration and pays the workshop directly – customers at contracted partner garages avoid paperwork and receive a free replacement car.
  • Key loss protection built into all packages: 50% of lock recoding/replacement costs reimbursed once per policy period upon presentation of invoice and repaired vehicle.

Key conditions
Driver age experience limit
No minimum age for the policyholder. Double deductible applies if, at the time of the insured event, the vehicle was driven by a person under 25 years of age who is not the policyholder/insured (for corporate insured, the driver is under 25). The double deductible rule does not apply to theft, natural perils/fire, or glass damage. Additionally, double deductible applies if 30% speed limit excess is the cause of the breakage. No explicit driver age or experience minimum is stated in the IPID or publicly available T&C summaries for the Allianz Autóm casco product. Premium may be influenced by the age of the driver/policyholder via the bonus-malus and tariff system. No explicit minimum driver age or experience requirement is stated in the policy terms for coverage eligibility. However, the insurer is exempt from payment if the driver did not hold a valid driving licence at the time of the insured event (VI.15), or if the policyholder/insured was aware that the driver was unfit to drive (VI.12).No specific minimum driver age or experience requirement is stated in the policy terms. However, the driver must hold a valid driving licence for the vehicle category. A claim is excluded if the driver was operating the vehicle without a valid licence for the relevant category, or under the influence of narcotics, alcohol, or other substances impairing driving ability. Note: driving with an expired licence does not count as driving without a licence if renewed within 30 days of the loss event under unchanged conditions.
Repair network requirements
For partial loss under breakage insurance, authorized dealer (márkaszerviz) labour rates are reimbursed only if the repair was demonstrably carried out at an authorized dealership. If a component is irreparable, the insurer reimburses its Hungarian market value (price, depreciated value) at time of loss. The insurer settles claims only for repairs performed in Hungary. For casco claims, the policyholder may freely choose between: (1) cash settlement (készpénzes kárrendezés), (2) an Allianz contracted repair partner, or (3) any other auto repair shop. There is no obligation to use the contracted repair network. Upgrading the casco coverage on an existing contract requires a risk assessment and vehicle inspection (szemle). The base policy does not restrict repairs to a specific network; costs are reimbursed at average Hungarian authorised workshop rates based on the Audatex calculation system (II.2.4.1). Optional endorsements (4057, 4067, 4068, T80A00, T90A00, T99A00) may link benefits (reduced deductible, higher total-loss threshold) to repairs at the authorised brand dealer specified in the policy by dealer code. Lock/ignition cylinder replacement must be performed at a Hungarian authorised brand dealer (IX.8).Repairs must be carried out at a Hungarian workshop (for Komfort/Prémium partial loss claims). For safety/life-protection equipment (airbags, seatbelts), only repairs at the type-identical brand dealership are reimbursed. If Groupama's Auto+ (direct repair) service is used with a contracted partner, Groupama handles administration and deducts the deductible directly; the customer may also use non-contracted workshops and submit invoices. The insurer may verify submitted invoices by requesting purchase/subcontractor receipts and inspecting the vehicle after repair.
Territorial scope
The policy is valid throughout Europe, including the entire territory of Turkey. The policy does not cover losses occurring in the successor states of the former Soviet Union, with the exception of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine.Casco, legal assistance and assistance coverages apply in approximately 40 European countries (including Hungary, all EU member states, EEA countries, Switzerland, Balkans). Turkey and Cyprus covered for assistance on European/Greek parts only. Traffic accident cover is valid worldwide. GFB cover applies in EEA + Switzerland + Green Card countries (excluding Belarus, Russia, Iran). Extended territorial coverage may be arranged on request for an additional premium. The policy covers insured events occurring in the following 47 European countries: Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, United Kingdom, North Macedonia, Estonia, Finland, Belarus, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Netherlands, Croatia, Ireland, Iceland, Kosovo, Poland, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Republic of Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Germany, Norway, Italy, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, European part of Turkey (territory bordered by Bulgaria-Greece-Aegean Sea-Sea of Marmara-Black Sea), Ukraine and Vatican. Endorsement 4050 can exclude the Baltic states, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine; endorsement 4051/4064 restricts to Hungary only; endorsement 4066 extends to Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and Asian Turkey.Hungary and all member countries of the Green Card System (European territory). For Prémium Casco assistance services, the territorial scope includes Hungary and a specific list of European countries (some marked * where service quality may depend on local factors). Prémium Casco baggage insurance covers losses in Hungary only (not abroad). Theft/robbery claims abroad must also be reported to the relevant foreign authority.
Anti theft requirements
For theft coverage, the vehicle must be properly locked and equipped with the anti-theft device specified in the contract (immobiliser, alarm, etc.) that was active and operational at the time of theft. A vehicle is not considered properly locked if any lock cylinder is missing or damaged so that the lock can be operated without the key, if windows are not closed, or if the required anti-theft device was not activated or inoperable. The theft coverage (lopáskár) does not apply if, at the time of the theft, the keys or other devices enabling the starting and removal of the vehicle were left in or on the vehicle. The policyholder is required to possess all devices enabling vehicle access (e.g. keys, remote, code card) to be eligible for theft cover. All installed security devices must be properly engaged and operational at the time of the theft for the theft cover to apply (I.4.3, I.4.4). Specific endorsements (4016, 4045, 4052, 4053, 4054) set out detailed technical requirements for immobilisers, alarms and GPS tracking systems. If the vehicle becomes unsecurable after the original fitting (e.g. due to lock damage, lost key, failed attempted theft), the insurer's liability for theft risk is suspended until certified professional repair/replacement (VII.2a, VII.3). The insurer requires keys, remote controls and electronic start cards to be handed over upon claiming theft (VIII.2.9). At least 2 original keys must be in existence (endorsement 4046 can exclude theft if fewer than 2 keys are declared). The vehicle must be properly locked (all lock cylinders intact, windows closed) and the contracted anti-theft system (alarm, tracker, etc.) named in the policy must be active. If the vehicle keys are lost, locks and the anti-theft system must be recoded or replaced at a specialist workshop immediately; until then, the vehicle must be stored in a protected location. Keys must be stored in a locked or properly guarded place. After a theft or theft attempt, all keys must be presented to the insurer. Theft cover may be excluded by endorsement (A01: missing MABISZ-rated immobiliser; A02: inability to account for all original keys; A11: missing MABISZ-rated anti-robbery device).
Claim notification deadline
Insured events must be reported to the insurer as soon as possible, but no later than 5 days from the date of becoming aware of the event. The notification must always be confirmed in writing. Fire/explosion damage must also be reported to the fire authority; theft/robbery to the police. The insured must preserve the damaged vehicle unchanged until inspection, but no longer than 5 days from notification (or 5 additional days after removal of the obstacle, if inspection was delayed due to circumstances within the insured's sphere).GFB (MTPL) claims must be reported to the insurer within 5 working days. For casco and other claims: the policyholder must mitigate the damage to the extent possible and preserve the damage condition until agreed with the insurer on the damage assessment. Any changes to the reported data within 8 days of policy inception must also be notified.Insured events must be reported within 15 days of discovery via Generali's official channels (phone +36 1 452 3333, online, in person, or by mail at 7602 Pécs, Pf. 888) (VIII.2.1, ÁVF IX.1). Theft, robbery, vandalism, fire and explosion must additionally be reported to the police within 2 working days (VIII.2.6). For claims reported after 15 days, coverage is provided only if it is beyond doubt that the loss occurred during the coverage period. Recovery of a stolen vehicle must be reported within 2 working days of becoming aware of it (VIII.2.8). Repairs must not begin without the insurer's prior written consent, unless the insurer fails to carry out a damage inspection within 5 working days of notification (VIII.2.4, ÁVF IX.11–IX.13).Claims must be reported to the insurer in writing within 2 business days of the occurrence or the insured's/policyholder's becoming aware of the event. Supporting documents (driver's licence, vehicle registration, logbook, police report for theft/fire) must also be submitted. Fire/explosion damage must also be reported to the fire authority. Theft and robbery must also be reported to the police; abroad, also to the relevant foreign authority. If notification is late and this makes key circumstances impossible to establish, the insurer may be released from its obligation. The insurer must receive the final loss notification within 15 days; payment is due within 15 days of receiving the last document. For theft/robbery, payment becomes due on day 75 after the police report even if investigations are ongoing (unless the vehicle is recovered earlier).
Deductible rules
A deductible (önrészesedés) is applied per insured event as specified in the offer and policy. Deductibles below the minimum are not reimbursed. The double deductible rule applies: (1) if at least two prior claims have been paid in the same policy year, (2) if the vehicle was driven by a person under 25 who is not the insured, or (3) if the breakage occurred with a speed limit excess of at least 30%. The double deductible rule does not apply to theft, natural perils/fire, or glass damage. No deductible is applied to accident insurance benefits or roadside assistance. For casco coverages (natural perils, fire and explosion, animal collision, theft, vandalism, collision damage): the contractually defined deductible (önrészesedés) is deducted from the assessed claim. The policyholder may choose the deductible level; a higher deductible results in a lower premium. For glass damage (üvegkár): a fixed deductible of HUF 75,000 applies per claim where glass replacement is required; no deductible applies if the damage is repaired without replacement (chip repair). The insurer applies proportional or reduced compensation in cases of unreported changes or false data. The deductible (önrész) is selected by the policyholder at inception and is applied per insured event per vehicle. A single deductible applies even when multiple insured events occur simultaneously or from the same cause (V. fejezet). For glass damage, no deductible applies when the glass can be repaired without replacement; when replacement is necessary, a deductible applies only if replacement costs reach or exceed 65% of the Audatex calculation value (II.2.4.5). Salvage value is deducted from total-loss indemnity in addition to the deductible. For loss-prevention costs authorised by the insurer, a 10% deductible applies (IX.2). Endorsements 4067 and 4068 halve the minimum deductible for repairs at specified BMW/Mini or dealer brand workshops.A deductible (önrész) applies to each insured event as specified in the policy/certificate. The deductible consists of a percentage (10% or 20%, chosen by the policyholder at inception) AND a minimum amount (also chosen at inception). The higher of the two applies. Exception 1: No deductible if windscreen/glass is repaired without replacement. Exception 2: Only the percentage deductible (not the minimum) applies if the claim covers ONLY glass replacement cost (below 65% of Audatex calculation) or ONLY damage from a theft attempt affecting locks/security system. If glass replacement cost equals or exceeds 65% of Audatex calculation, 20% deductible applies. Exception 3: Doubled deductible (2× contractual amount) if breakage damage occurred at ≥30% above the speed limit. No deductible is charged for Prémium Casco assistance, accident, and baggage services.
Proof and next steps
Direct payment policy
The insurer settles claims exclusively in Hungary; payment is made in Hungarian forint (HUF). Repairs, restoration and replacement are only reimbursed to the extent they take place in Hungary. For casco claims, the policyholder may choose cash settlement, an Allianz contracted repair partner, or any other auto repair shop. Claim can be reported online, by phone, or directly at a contracted repair partner. The insurer does not pay for services obtained without prior notification and approval (for assistance claims). The insurer pays repair costs directly to the repair shop based on invoices; in total-loss cases, the insurer pays the policyholder after deducting the salvage value and any deductible. Rescue, towing and temporary storage costs up to HUF 100,000 are reimbursed without deductible against invoices.Groupama operates an Auto+ (direct repair) service: for repairs at contracted partner workshops, Groupama deducts the deductible directly and pays the repairer, relieving the customer of administrative tasks. For non-partner workshops, the insured submits invoices for reimbursement within 15 days of claim receipt.
