Overview
EUB (Európai Utazási Biztosító Zrt.) is a Hungarian insurer that sells only travel insurance. Its predecessor was founded in 1907 and later majority-owned by Assicurazioni Generali; after nationalisation its Hungarian activity stopped for decades, and the independent Európai Utazási Biztosító Zrt. was established in 1997. Since January 2025 its majority owner is the French Europ Assistance SA, also part of the Generali Group.

Regulatory updates
EUB is supervised by the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (1054 Budapest, Szabadság tér 8–9.). The insurer publishes on its website the operative part of any decision issued against it by the Magyar Nemzeti Bank due to breach of applicable laws relating to insurance activity. A significant ownership change occurred in the group: since January 2025 EUB's majority owner has been the French Europ Assistance SA, also part of the Generali Group, replacing the previous shareholder structure led by Generali Biztosító Zrt.
