Direct payment

For guarantees other than Third Party Liability (RCA), Assicuratrice Milanese pays the indemnity directly to the policyholder, or communicates the reasons for non-payment, within 30 days of receiving all documentation necessary to settle the claim.

Geographic scope

Italy

Cover applies in Italy, Vatican City, San Marino and the countries in which the compulsory motor liability (RCA) insurance for the vehicle is valid (EU member states plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Monaco, Switzerland, Andorra and Green Card countries).

Unique selling points

  • Glass repairs at Carglass-affiliated centres are carried out with the policy excess/deductible waived entirely.
  • On passenger cars, partial Kasko claims within the first 36 months from registration are settled with no wear-and-tear deduction on most vehicle parts.
  • Total loss claims within the first 12 months from first registration are reimbursed at the full original invoice purchase price.
  • The Tutela Giudiziaria (legal protection) guarantee covers legal costs with no cap when the insurer's own appointed lawyer is used.
  • 24/7 roadside and travel assistance is provided through the Europ Assistance operations centre, reachable via a dedicated toll-free number.

Coverage limits

Kasko (Own Damage)

100% of insured sum

Only in Kasko Totale, Kasko Parziale, Kasko Collisione

Optional Kasko guarantee offered in three selectable forms: Kasko Totale covers material damage from collision, impact with fixed/mobile obstacles, running off the road, and rollover during circulation (including own-fault accidents); Kasko Parziale covers damage from accidental impact with another identified vehicle; Kasko Collisione covers damage from collision with an identified but uninsured vehicle, capped at €5,000 per claim/year (or the vehicle's commercial value if lower), with a 10% excess (minimum €150). Kasko Totale and Kasko Parziale are capped at the insured value declared in the policy.

Total Loss Settlement

100% of insured sum

Only in Kasko Totale, Kasko Parziale

In case of total loss within the first 12 months from first registration, the insurer indemnifies the full purchase invoice price (less the applicable excess); after 12 months, the indemnity is based on the vehicle's Quattroruote-listed commercial value at the time of the claim, net of the salvage value.

Source

Partial Loss Settlement

100% of insured sum

Only in Kasko Totale, Kasko Parziale

For partial damage occurring within 36 months of first registration on passenger cars, indemnity is calculated without any wear-and-tear (degrado) deduction on the vehicle and its parts, except tyres, battery, engine parts, brakes, clutch, shock absorbers and other mechanical components, within the insured value or, if lower, the commercial value.

Theft and Robbery (separate guarantee)

100% of insured sum

Theft and robbery of the vehicle are explicitly excluded from the Kasko guarantee itself, but are covered under a separate optional 'Furto e Rapina' guarantee, indemnifying material damage from theft or robbery (consummated or attempted) up to the insured value, with an excess/deductible that varies by vehicle risk category, province of residence and the presence of a satellite anti-theft device.

Glass Breakage

€1,000

Optional guarantee indemnifying material damage, including installation/repair costs, for replacement of the vehicle's glass following accidental breakage or breakage caused by third parties, up to €1,000 per claim/year. A fixed deductible (€150 for most vehicles, €200 for trucks) applies, but is waived if the repair is carried out at a Carglass-affiliated centre.

Natural Perils

€10,000

100% of insured sum

Optional guarantee covering material damage from hail, storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, landslides, avalanches, snowfall, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, up to the insured value with a 10% excess (minimum €250); hail damage specifically is sub-limited to 50% of the insured value, capped at €10,000.

Vandalism and Socio-Political Events

Optional

Optional guarantee covering material damage from acts of vandalism, terrorism, riots, strikes and sabotage. Both the limit of indemnity and the applicable excess vary depending on the province of residence of the vehicle owner.

Roadside Assistance

€200

Only in Basic, Confort

Optional Assistenza guarantee (Basic and Confort packages) providing 24/7 roadside assistance including towing and mobile workshop intervention up to €200 per claim, and recovery of the vehicle if it has gone off the road, also up to €200 per claim; accessible via a toll-free number staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Replacement Vehicle

€3 – €7

Only in Confort

Available only within the Confort assistance package (not Basic): if the vehicle is immobilised following a covered claim and repair requires more than 8 hours of certified labour, a replacement 1200cc car with unlimited mileage is provided for 3 consecutive days in case of breakdown, or 7 consecutive days in other covered cases.

Driver Personal Accident

Optional

Optional guarantee covering accidents suffered by whoever is driving the insured vehicle (death, permanent disability and medical expense reimbursement), including accidents caused by the driver's own imprudence, negligence or gross negligence. For permanent disability, a fixed 3% excess applies up to 10% disability for cars, while for motorcycles/mopeds a flat 5% excess applies (no indemnity at or below 5% disability).

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

The policy offers an optional 'Guida esperta' (experienced driver) clause restricting cover to drivers over 26 years old who have held a valid licence for at least 3 years; if 'Guida libera' is chosen instead, cover operates for any driver but the insurer exercises recourse (rivalsa) against the policyholder if it was declared the vehicle would never be driven by a driver under 26.

Repair network requirements

For the Cristalli (glass) guarantee, no deductible applies if repairs are carried out at Carglass-affiliated centres; if a different repairer is used, a fixed deductible (€150 for most vehicles, €200 for trucks) applies. For Kasko, the insurer has the right (not the obligation) to carry out or arrange repairs directly, or to replace the vehicle/parts, instead of paying the cash indemnity.

Territorial scope

Cover applies in Italy, Vatican City, San Marino, and the countries in which the compulsory motor liability (RCA) insurance is valid.

Anti-theft requirements

No specific anti-theft device is mandatory for the Kasko guarantee itself; for the separate Furto e Rapina (theft/robbery) guarantee, the premium and applicable deductible vary depending on the vehicle risk category, the province of residence of the owner and whether a satellite anti-theft device is installed on the insured vehicle.

Claim notification deadline

The insured must report the claim in writing within 3 days of the event or of becoming aware of it, refraining from repairs (except urgent ones needed to allow the vehicle back on the road) until the insurer's appraiser has assessed the damage.

Deductible rules

Deductibles/excesses vary by guarantee and clause: Kasko Totale/Parziale excess depends on the insured vehicle value; Kasko Collisione has a 10% excess with a minimum of €150 (capped at €5,000 per claim/year); Cristalli has a fixed deductible of €150 (cars) / €200 (trucks), waived if repaired at a Carglass-affiliated centre; Eventi Naturali carries a 10% excess with a minimum of €250; the optional Collisione con animali selvatici carries a 10% excess with a minimum of €250; Furto/Rapina excess varies by risk category, province and anti-theft device.
