Direct payment

The insurer may settle claims either by paying the indemnity to the insured or by having repairs carried out directly (or contracting the repair) instead of paying the indemnity; deductibles, excesses and wear-and-tear reductions remain payable by the insured. Using a Vittoria-affiliated body shop removes or reduces these amounts on several guarantees.

Geographic scope

Italy

Cover applies in the Republic of Italy, Vatican City, San Marino, EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Monaco, Switzerland, Andorra and Serbia, as well as other countries covered by the Green Card system not excluded on the Green Card.

Unique selling points

  • Repairs carried out at Vittoria's affiliated body-shop network are settled with no deductible, excess or wear-and-tear reduction on several guarantees, such as Collisione Integrativa and Atti Vandalici Top.
  • The optional 'Valore a Nuovo' clause pays the full list price on a total loss within 6 months of first registration and waives wear-and-tear deductions on partial damage for up to 48 months.
  • The 'Clausola Degrado Predefinito' fixes the wear-and-tear reduction on a published age-based scale (0% up to 6 months, rising to 35% at 37-48 months) instead of a case-by-case assessment.
  • The Cristalli Elite option reimburses glass breakage up to the full insured value for Fire and Theft, for up to two claims per year.
  • Declaring an active satellite tracking anti-theft device earns a premium discount on the Theft guarantee.

Coverage limits

Own damage cover (Maxicasco)

Optional

Indemnifies material damage directly suffered by the insured vehicle from impact, overturning, running off the road or collision occurring during circulation, within the declared insured value (valore assicurato); this guarantee can only be activated together with the compulsory motor liability (RCA) cover.

Source

Total loss settlement

€3,000 – €5,000

When the vehicle is a total loss (damage equal to or exceeding its commercial value), the indemnity is based on the commercial value quoted by Quattroruote magazine for the month of the loss, within the insured value. The optional 'Collisione a Perdita Totale' guarantee additionally covers the insured's own share of liability in an RCA direct-settlement claim: up to €5,000 if fully liable, or up to €3,000 if partially liable (cumulated with the RCA direct-settlement payment), always within the vehicle's commercial value.

Source

Partial damage settlement

Optional

Partial damage is indemnified based on the cost of repair or replacement of the damaged/stolen parts. Unless the optional 'Clausola Degrado Predefinito' is purchased, a wear-and-tear reduction (degrado) proportional to the ratio between the vehicle's commercial value and its new-purchase price is applied to newly supplied parts. If purchased, the Clausola Degrado Predefinito fixes the degrado on a published schedule by months since first registration: 0% for months 1-6, 15% for 7-12, 20% for 13-18, 25% for 19-24, 30% for 25-36 and 35% for 37-48 months.

Theft and robbery

Optional

Indemnifies material damage from theft or robbery (attempted or completed) of the insured vehicle, including circulation damage consequent to the theft/robbery, within the declared insured value; can only be activated together with the Fire (Incendio) guarantee. Non-original audio/video equipment is covered up to 15% of the total sum insured for the vehicle.

Glass damage

€500 – €2,000

Only in Cristalli, Cristalli Elite

Tier 'Cristalli': up to €700 per claim/year if repaired at a Vittoria-affiliated body shop or specialist glass centre, or up to €500 with a €300 deductible otherwise. Tier 'Cristalli Elite': up to the full insured value for Fire and Theft (max 2 claims/year) at affiliated centres, or up to €2,000 (max 1 claim/year, €300 deductible) otherwise.

Natural events

Optional

Indemnifies material damage caused by volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, whirlwinds, hurricanes, floods, landslides, ground subsidence, avalanches, hail, snowfall and falling objects of any kind, within the insured value; can only be activated together with Fire and Theft. An excess of 10% (minimum €300) applies if repaired at an affiliated body shop, or 15% (minimum €600) otherwise.

Vandalism

€1,500 – €20,000

Only in Atti Vandalici New, Atti Vandalici Top

Tier 'Atti Vandalici Top': up to the insured value for Fire and Theft, capped at €20,000 per claim and at the lesser of the insured or commercial value, with a 20% excess (minimum €1,500) if not repaired at an affiliated body shop.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

No minimum age or driving-experience requirement is set for this cover; however, all own-damage guarantees (Maxicasco, Collisione, Incendio, Furto, etc.) are inoperative if the driver is not licensed to drive under current rules, or if the driver is found in breach of Article 186 of the Highway Code (driving under the influence of alcohol) or Article 187 (driving under the influence of drugs).

Repair network requirements

Using a Vittoria-affiliated body shop (carrozzeria convenzionata, listed on www.vittoriaassicurazioni.com) removes or reduces the deductible/excess and wear-and-tear reduction (degrado) on several guarantees: for example Collisione Integrativa is settled with no degrado/franchigia/scoperto at affiliated shops, and Cristalli, Atti Vandalici Top and Fenomeni Naturali apply lower excesses at affiliated shops than at non-affiliated ones.

Territorial scope

Cover applies in Italy, Vatican City, San Marino, EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Monaco, Switzerland, Andorra and Serbia, as well as other Green Card system countries not excluded on the Green Card.

Anti-theft requirements

No specific anti-theft device is mandatory to activate the Theft (Furto) guarantee. If the policyholder declares that a satellite tracking anti-theft device is fitted and kept active (Clausola Satellitare), a premium discount on the Theft guarantee is granted; at claim stage, evidence of correct installation, activation and functioning of the device must be provided.

Claim notification deadline

The claim must be reported in writing to the agency holding the policy or to Vittoria's head office within 3 days of the policyholder becoming aware of it; theft, robbery, arson and vandalism claims must also be reported immediately to the competent authorities.

Deductible rules

Deductibles/excesses vary by guarantee and are generally reduced when repairs are carried out at a Vittoria-affiliated body shop. The basic Collisione guarantee carries a fixed deductible of 10% of the insured value. Collisione Integrativa applies no excess at affiliated shops, or 20% otherwise. Fenomeni Naturali applies a 10% excess (minimum €300) at affiliated shops or 15% (minimum €600) otherwise. Atti Vandalici Top applies no excess at affiliated shops (only degrado on tyres) or 20% (minimum €1,500) otherwise. Cristalli/Cristalli Elite apply a €300 deductible only when repaired outside the affiliated network.
