Italy (entire national territory)

Coverage applies automatically without a Green Card in EU countries and in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Switzerland; a Green Card is required to circulate in other countries such as Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Tunisia and others.

Legal defence / Tutela Legale

€20,000 – €25,000

Optional legal protection add-on offered in two formulas (Basic and Premium) with increasing benefits. Basic covers up to EUR 20,000 for claiming compensation for extra-contractual damage caused by third parties, including criminal defence for negligence-related offences and contraventions connected to road accidents; this limit is raised to EUR 50,000 for criminal defence in cases of vehicular homicide or serious personal injury. Premium includes all Basic guarantees with a EUR 25,000 limit, plus costs for pursuing recovery of damages under the direct-settlement (indennizzo diretto) procedure.

Key conditions

Territorial scope

The RC Auto cover is automatically valid, without needing to carry a Green Card, throughout Italy, the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Switzerland; the Green Card is still required for certain other countries.

Green card rules

Since EU agreements, the Green Card is no longer required within EU countries as guarantees operate automatically on the basis of the Italian RC Auto policy; it is still required, for example, for Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Israel, Moldova and Tunisia.

Driver restrictions

The RC Auto cover is always valid regardless of who is driving the vehicle and without time or mileage limitations.
