Menzis is one of the largest non-profit health insurance cooperatives in the Netherlands, founded in 2006 following a merger of Amicon, Geové and NVS, with roots dating back to 1836. Regulatory updates
The NZa previously imposed a formal directive on Menzis (alongside CZ) for failing its duty of care regarding waiting times in hospital care in the Twente region, giving Menzis 6 months to implement improvements. Menzis has since confirmed that the NZa's final assessment found all required improvement points were successfully implemented. Menzis kept its 2026 basic insurance premium equal to 2025 levels, and the NZa continues to publish annual tariffs and rules affecting Menzis's healthcare purchasing for 2026 and 2027.
