Menzis is one of the largest non-profit health insurance cooperatives in the Netherlands, founded in 2006 following a merger of Amicon, Geové and NVS, with roots dating back to 1836. As a member-owned cooperative without shareholders, it serves approximately 2 million insured members through two labels: Menzis and AnderZorg. Regulatory updates
The NZa completed an investigation into Menzis's compliance with its duty of care (zorgplicht). Menzis had received an NZa directive regarding its processes for addressing waiting times in hospital care in the Twente region and was given 6 months to implement improvements. The NZa confirmed in its final assessment that all required improvements were successfully completed. Additionally, the NZa published new rules and tariffs for 2026, and Menzis kept its 2026 basic insurance premium equal to 2025 levels.
