Ominimo operates in the Netherlands as a managing general agent / insurance distributor rather than as a licensed risk-carrying insurer itself; it does not underwrite and instead operates as a managing general agent, pricing the risk, selling the policy, owning the customer and handling claims while the insurance risk sits with a partner. In the Netherlands, Ominimo's entry is supported by a close collaboration with Zurich, via its subsidiary DA Direkt, which is regulated by DNB/AFM as the licensed carrier. Group-wide, Ominimo currently works with established insurance, distribution and claims partners while also progressing toward obtaining its own insurance licence, which would eventually bring the Dutch operation under direct DNB/AFM licensing as well.
