Key conditions

Assistance call deadline

You must contact the Alarmcentrale immediately in case of a claim; failing to do so may reduce your reimbursement. For cancellation/interruption/delay claims, you must notify all travel providers within 72 hours of learning that you must cancel or interrupt your trip; if a later notification lowers your refund, the difference is not compensated.

Unauthorized treatment

Transport/evacuation must be arranged and pre-approved by Allianz Direct. If you or someone on your behalf arranges transport without prior approval, reimbursement is limited to the amount Allianz Direct would have paid had it arranged the transport itself, and Allianz Direct is not responsible for unapproved transport.

Purchase while abroad

The policy is only available to residents of the Netherlands who are registered in the Dutch municipal register (BRP) and actually live in the Netherlands throughout the policy term. The sources do not separately address taking out the policy while already abroad.

Chronic conditions

Damage, a condition or an event that was already known, foreseeable or to be expected by you at the time you took out the insurance is never covered.

Pregnancy

Normal pregnancy or delivery without complications is excluded, unless explicitly listed as a covered event under Cancellation or Interruption. Discovering a pregnancy after taking out the policy, or medically confirmed pregnancy complications, can be a covered reason for cancellation or interruption, subject to the applicable tier limit.

Pre-existing condition exclusions

Any damage, condition or event that was already known, foreseeable or expected when you took out the policy is excluded from cover under all parts of the policy.

Coverage duration limit

The continuous travel insurance covers a maximum of 65 consecutive days per single trip, unless a different number of days is stated on the policy schedule. The policy itself has a minimum term of 1 year, after which it can be cancelled daily.
