The insured must contact the Allianz Assistance service immediately upon the occurrence of a covered event abroad. Purchase while abroad
The policy must be subscribed before the start of the trip. Unauthorized treatment
Medical expenses incurred without prior authorization from the Allianz Assistance service may not be reimbursed or may be subject to a penalty/reduction. Pre existing conditions
Pre-existing conditions are excluded. However, acute manifestations of pre-existing lesions or diseases are covered. Coverage duration limit
The policy is sold on a per-trip basis. Coverage is limited to the duration of the insured trip as stated in the policy conditions. Annual multi-trip variants may be available but are a separate product.Coverage is valid for the contracted period indicated in the Particular Conditions or Adhesion Certificates. The maximum trip duration guaranteed is one year. In the event of a force majeure event, sudden accident or illness that demonstrably prevents the insured from returning, contracted coverages remain in force automatically without additional premium until the impediment ceases. The policy lapses at the end of the year in which the insured turns 75.For the temporary version, the insured can choose coverage periods of up to 4 days, 5–16 days, 17–30 days, or 31–90 days per trip. For the annual version, coverage applies to each trip throughout the year up to a maximum duration of 90 days per trip. Coverage ends at the end of the trip or on the date specified in the Particular Conditions. If the trip ends before the scheduled date, coverage ceases on that earlier date. The policy is automatically extended if a delay occurs for reasons beyond the insured's control (excluding Assistance coverages).The policy duration is as specified in the Particular Conditions / Policy Receipt. Coverage can be contracted for the period needed, up to a maximum of 60 days.
