Regulatory updates
In early 2025, ABC Insurance became the subject of a regulatory controversy: whistleblowers within the ASF alleged that the authority's leadership intervened to reclassify findings from a 2024 control inspection and delayed sanctioning the insurer. ASF publicly confirmed that the company meets its solvency capital requirements. The company denied any wrongdoing, stating it has always complied with applicable legislation. In March 2025, ASF issued a fine of 260,100 RON against ABC Insurance. In 2024, the company increased its share capital to 30,480,000 RON, and ASF approved Electromontaj S.A. as the new majority shareholder (56.5%) following its acquisition of the stake previously held by Hidroconstrucția S.A.
