Direct payment

For hospitalization, costs are settled directly by the insurer via the assistance service upon presentation of the EHIC and the insurance confirmation; for outpatient treatment the insured typically pays on-site and submits receipts for reimbursement after returning home, though the assistance service can arrange direct payment guarantees to providers when contacted in advance, especially in cases of financial hardship.

Geographic scope

Worldwide excluding Slovakia; for short-term policies, the customer may choose either Europe or the whole World; annual policies automatically cover the whole World excluding Slovakia

Coverage applies to all countries of the world except Slovakia; if the insured is a foreigner legally staying in Slovakia, cover applies to the territory agreed in the policy, excluding the country of the insured's permanent residence, nationality, or where they hold health insurance

Unique selling points

  • Assistance service (Global Assistance) coordinates and guarantees direct payment to medical providers abroad, reducing the need for the insured to pay upfront.
  • 24/7 Slovak-, Czech- and English-speaking assistance line plus a dedicated 24/7 transport-disruption and COVID-assistance line (Click2Claim).
  • Highest tier (Excelent) offers medical expense cover up to 300,000 EUR plus built-in personal liability cover up to 150,000 EUR.
  • Flight-cancellation refund and transport-disruption assistance are included as a standard service across all tiers, not just as a paid add-on.
  • COVID-19 treatment abroad is covered under a specific public commitment, rather than being blanket-excluded as a pandemic/epidemic risk.
