Overview
Zavarovalnica Triglav, d.d. is the largest and oldest Slovenian insurance company, founded in Ljubljana on 5 July 1900 and headquartered there today. It is the controlling company of the Triglav Group, the leading insurance-financial group in the Adria region, with core businesses in insurance, reinsurance and asset management and subsidiaries in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia. The company is publicly traded on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (ticker: ZVTG) and is a component of the SBI TOP index, with the largest shareholders being Slovenian state-owned funds ZPIZ and SDH.

Regulatory updates
Zavarovalnica Triglav operates under a license from and is actively supervised by the Slovenian Insurance Supervision Agency (AZN). In January 2024, AZN issued a decision prohibiting Vinko Letnar from serving as a member of the Supervisory Board due to failure to meet statutory requirements, a decision the company said confirmed the supervisory board's view that his appointment by the works council was unlawful. In September 2025 the Supervisory Board appointed Ivica Vulić as a new Management Board member and Workers Director, and after receiving the required AZN authorization he took up the role on 8 January 2026 for a five-year term, succeeding Marica Makoter. On credit ratings, AM Best reaffirmed the 'A' (Excellent) Financial Strength Rating and 'a' Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of both Zavarovalnica Triglav and Pozavarovalnica Triglav Re in October 2025, while S&P Global Ratings upgraded the Triglav Group's financial strength and issuer credit ratings from 'A' to 'A+' with a stable outlook in June 2025, having earlier improved the outlook from stable to positive in late 2024.
