Allianz Slovenija is the Ljubljana-based Slovenian branch office of Allianz Hrvatska d.d. (Zagreb), itself part of the global Allianz Group. The branch was registered in May 2018 and began offering non-life and life insurance products to private individuals and businesses in Slovenia from 1 July 2018, after having served corporate clients in the Slovenian market for about a decade beforehand.

Europäische Reiseversicherung AG, branded Evropsko.si in Slovenia, is Austria's largest travel insurer and offers travel and trip-cancellation insurance in Slovenia on a cross-border freedom-of-services basis rather than through a locally incorporated subsidiary. The company is majority owned (74.99%) by Generali Versicherung AG and forms part of the Italian Generali Group; local claims handling and assistance in Slovenia are provided through Generali zavarovalnica d.d. Ljubljana and Europ Assistance d.o.o. Maribor.

GENERALI zavarovalnica d.d. is the leading international insurance provider in Slovenia and the third largest insurer on the Slovenian market. Present since 1996 and operating under the current name since 2001, the company merged with Adriatic Slovenica in January 2020. It is 100% owned by Generali CEE Holding B.V. and offers a comprehensive range of motor, property, health, life, pension, and travel insurance products to individuals and businesses.

GRAWE zavarovalnica d.d. is a composite insurer offering both life and non-life insurance in Slovenia, operating under the name PRIMA until 2001. It was the first Slovenian insurance company established on the basis of private initiative and foreign investment, and it is part of the Austrian GRAWE Group, one of the largest insurance groups in Central and Eastern Europe.

Groupama Zavarovalnica is the Slovenian branch of Groupama Biztosító Zrt. (Hungary), part of the French Groupama insurance group. It entered the Slovenian market in June 2022 in partnership with OTP Bank and offers motor, property, life, accident and travel insurance products, mainly distributed through OTP Bank, Nova KBM and SKB Bank branches.

Merkur zavarovalnica d.d. is a Slovenian insurance company specialising in personal insurance, offering a wide portfolio of life, investment-linked, accident, health, property, and travel insurance products. Founded in Ljubljana in 1992 as a subsidiary of the Austrian Merkur Versicherung A.G. group, it is one of the leading life insurers in Slovenia.

Modra zavarovalnica is Slovenia's leading provider of supplementary pension insurance, managing four pension funds and a guarantee fund (Modra renta) for over 315,000 savers and 2,200 employers. Founded in 2011 by spin-off from Kapitalska družba, it is fully state-owned and also offers accident insurance and, as agent, legal protection and travel insurance.

Zavarovalnica Triglav, d.d. is the largest and oldest Slovenian insurance company, founded in 1900 and headquartered in Ljubljana. It is the parent and controlling company of the Triglav Group, the leading insurance-financial group in the Adria region, offering insurance, reinsurance and asset management across six countries. The company is publicly traded on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (ticker: ZVTG), with the largest shareholders being Slovenian state-owned funds (ZPIZ 34.47% and SDH 28.09%).

Vzajemna zdravstvena zavarovalnica d.d. is Slovenia's largest specialized voluntary health insurance company, founded on November 1, 1999 as a result of the legal separation of voluntary and compulsory health insurance. Originally operating as a mutual insurer (d.v.z.), it was mandated by the Slovenian parliament (ZSPVZZ) to convert into a joint-stock company (d.d.) following the abolition of supplementary health insurance on January 1, 2024. Its shares were listed on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on March 4, 2026 (ticker: VZZR). It offers a wide range of voluntary health, accident, travel, dental and pet insurance products under the 'Varuh zdravja' brand.

Zavarovalnica Sava is a universal Slovenian insurance company, wholly owned by Sava Re, formed in 2016 through the merger of Zavarovalnica Maribor, Zavarovalnica Tilia, Velebit osiguranje and Velebit životno osiguranje. It offers a wide range of non-life and life insurance products and is present throughout Slovenia and Croatia.
