24/7 helpline

Direct payment

For emergency medical treatment, hospitalization and medically necessary transport/repatriation, the 24/7 assistance centre organizes assistance and generally settles costs directly with the local provider; for emergency dental treatment and quarantine accommodation the insured must pay first and is reimbursed afterwards against original invoices.

Geographic scope

Worldwide, excluding Slovenia and the insured's country of permanent/temporary residence; the discounted BALKAN package is intended for travel within the Balkan region.

Cover applies in the agreed territory abroad; Slovenia and the country where the insured has permanent or temporary residence are never treated as "abroad".

Starting price

Legal assistance / interpreter organization

Covered

If the insured is arrested or threatened with arrest abroad, the 24/7 assistance centre helps find a lawyer and an interpreter and assists with arranging bail; the actual costs of legal defence or interpretation and the bail amount itself are not covered.

Source

24/7 assistance centre

Covered

A 24-hour assistance centre is available for emergencies during travel (phone from Slovenia: 080 26 40; from abroad: +386 1 425 63 25). The insured must contact the centre immediately before arranging help independently.

Source

Key conditions

Assistance call deadline

The insured must call/notify the 24/7 assistance centre immediately upon occurrence of an emergency, before organizing help independently; if this is not done immediately, the insurer may reject claims not justified by valid medical or technical reasons.

Unauthorized treatment

Costs exceeding the limits set in the terms, or costs not covered under the terms, must be paid by the insured themselves; failure to notify the assistance centre immediately can lead to rejection of otherwise unjustified claims.

Purchase while abroad

If the insured is already abroad when a distance contract is concluded, cover starts on the fourth day after the day the contract was concluded (time zone of the insurer's registered seat applies), provided the full premium was paid and the insured event was not already occurring or had not yet occurred.

Chronic conditions

Cover excludes events related to mental illness, diseases of the nervous system, organ transplants/dialysis and HIV (unless the illness first occurs after conclusion of the policy and requires in-patient treatment). It also excludes heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes (type 1+2), migraine, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis if treated in-patient and/or out-patient in the 12 months before the policy was taken out; sudden acute worsening of such conditions after departure remains covered up to a set limit.

Pregnancy

Medical care due to pregnancy, childbirth after the 36th week (except to save the mother's or child's life), planned termination of pregnancy, or treatment of contraception-related consequences is excluded from medical cover. A pregnancy diagnosed only after the policy and travel contract were concluded may be an insured event under the optional trip cancellation cover.

Pre-existing condition exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are illnesses/states the insured was treated for, consulted a doctor about, or was aware of in the 12 months before the trip, plus all chronic diseases. Events that had already occurred or were foreseeable at the start of the trip are excluded; only a sudden, unforeseeable acute worsening arising after departure is covered, up to the tier-specific limit.

Coverage duration limit

For annual (multi-trip) policies, cover applies to an unlimited number of trips, but no single trip may exceed 90 days; if repatriation is impossible due to illness/accident abroad, the insurer's obligation ends at the latest 2 months after the insured event occurred.
