Key conditions

Assistance call deadline

The Insured must call the 24/7 emergency center of Global Services Bulgaria JSC (+359 2 8197 197) within 3 (three) days of the occurrence of an insured event requiring hospitalization, providing name, policy number and validity, contact details, and a brief description of the problem. For life-threatening situations, the Insured must first arrange emergency transport to the nearest hospital, then contact the Assistance Company as soon as possible. Failure to notify within the required period may result in the Assistance Company invoicing any additional avoidable costs to the Insured.

Unauthorized treatment

If the Insured or their representative cannot contact the Assistance Company due to objective reasons beyond their control (duly evidenced), they must notify the company within 7 days after those reasons cease, and notify the Insurer in writing within 7 days of return to Bulgaria (no later than 30 days from the event). The Insurer may refuse payment in full or reduce indemnity if obligations are not met. The Assistance Company must have free access to the Insured to assess health status; failure to comply without justified objection results in loss of the right to medical assistance.

Purchase while abroad

The insurance must be concluded before the travel date. Coverage commences upon the Insured leaving the territory of Bulgaria, not earlier than the start date stated in the contract, provided the insurance premium has been paid. The policy cannot be used for events that occurred before the policy start date.

Events resulting from chronic illness are excluded. A chronic disease is defined as a disease of a separate organ or system of organs with recurrent symptoms over a period longer than one year. Treatment for chronic conditions is not covered even if symptoms resemble those of an acute illness.

The sole exception is termination of pregnancy performed to save the life or health of the Insured, if permitted in the country where performed.
