Online purchase

Direct payment

Premium is paid at the time the insurance contract is concluded, unless otherwise agreed; payment can be made as a lump sum or in instalments, in cash or by card.

Geographic scope

Republic of Croatia and other Green Card System member countries

Valid in the Republic of Croatia and other Green Card System member countries at the time the insured event occurs; coverage for countries outside the Green Card System can be separately arranged.

Unique selling points

  • The 'Mala šteta' option lets policyholders settle one small claim per year (up to 5% of the vehicle's value) without using their full casco deductible.
  • Full casco customers can add a replacement vehicle benefit for use while their car is repaired at an authorized partner service.
  • An optional bonus-protection add-on preserves the policyholder's accumulated no-claims bonus even if a claim is reported during the insurance year.
  • The superbonus scheme means a customer's first claim after years of claim-free full casco coverage does not reduce their bonus.
  • Croatia osiguranje is Croatia's oldest and largest insurer, giving the casco product the backing of over a century of market experience.

Coverage limits

Own damage (all-risk cover)

Covered

Only in Puni kasko

Full casco (Puni kasko) covers all risks that may cause damage, destruction or disappearance of the insured vehicle that are not excluded by law, contract or these terms; the insurer's liability cannot exceed the premium calculation basis (the vehicle's new-purchase value) stated on the policy.

Source

Total loss

Covered

Only in Puni kasko

Total loss (vehicle destroyed, or repair uneconomical/technically impossible, or repair cost equal to or exceeding 75% of market value) is indemnified based on the vehicle's value immediately before the loss, minus the market value of the remains; the insurer's liability cannot exceed the premium calculation basis on the policy.

Source

Partial damage

Covered

Only in Puni kasko

Partial damage is indemnified based on the cost of repair (including assembly/disassembly), reduced by the market value of replaced parts' remains; the amount may be agreed based on paid repair invoices or a settlement between the insured and CROATIA.

Theft and robbery

Covered

Only in Puni kasko

Full casco covers theft, aggravated theft, robbery and unauthorized taking of the vehicle. Cover for theft-related damage is excluded if the vehicle was not locked or theft was otherwise facilitated, and claims must be reported to the police immediately.

Glass breakage/damage

Covered

Only in Puni kasko, Lom stakla

Full casco covers breakage and damage of standard-fitted glass on the vehicle (excluding light and mirror glass, which is covered separately). This risk is also available as a standalone 'Lom stakla' partial casco combination.

Source

Natural perils / force majeure

Covered

Only in Puni kasko, Viša sila

Full casco covers fire, lightning strike, explosion, storm, hail, avalanche, aircraft crash, flood, torrent or high water (the 'Viša sila' risk group). Earthquake damage, including consequential damage caused by an earthquake, is explicitly excluded.

Source

Vandalism

Covered

Only in Puni kasko

Full casco is an all-risk cover (Art. 4) and vandalism is not among the listed exclusions; Art. 9(4), covering dealer-stock vehicles, explicitly names vandalism as a risk that is excluded only during test drives, confirming it is otherwise covered under full casco.

Towing and vehicle recovery

HRK 7,000 – HRK 15,000

Optional

Only in Zamjensko vozilo

Optional add-on combination available only together with full casco: covers the rental cost of a replacement passenger or commercial vehicle (up to 3.5t, similar engine size up to 2,000cc) for the time needed to repair the insured vehicle, up to a maximum of 10 rental days, provided the repair is done at an authorized partner service; not available to businesses that rent out vehicles.

Driver accident (personal injury) benefit

No limit stated

No driver accident/personal injury benefit is mentioned in the reviewed Terms and Conditions or IPID for full casco.

Key conditions

Driver age and experience limit

Not specified in these Terms and Conditions or the IPID.

Repair network requirements

Ordinary claims are settled based on repair cost estimates, paid invoices, or agreement between the insured and CROATIA, with no mandatory repair network; if CROATIA does not begin the damage assessment within 8 days of notification, the insured may proceed with the repair. The replacement-vehicle benefit, however, requires repair to be carried out at an authorized partner service.

Territorial scope

Insurance is valid in the Republic of Croatia and other Green Card System member countries at the time the insured event occurs; coverage in non-Green Card System countries requires a separate arrangement.

Anti-theft requirements

Theft-related damage is not covered if the vehicle was not locked or if the theft was otherwise facilitated; costs for new keys or lock replacement/repair are excluded unless the keys were stolen from a locked room and reported to the police.

Claim notification deadline

The insured must report the claim immediately, and at the latest within 3 days of becoming aware of the damage, in writing, describing the destruction, damage or disappearance and its approximate value.

Deductible rules

If a deductible (franchise) is agreed for full casco, the payout is reduced by the agreed amount; if the claim is smaller than the deductible, no payout is made. Policyholders with two or more claims in one insurance year are additionally subject to a mandatory multi-claim deductible (30% of the full premium for the 2nd claim, 50% for the 3rd, 100% for the 4th, 200% for the 5th and further claims in that year), which cannot be less than HRK 2,000.
