Groupama osiguranje d.d. / Groupama osiguranje d.d. - Croatia Branch
Groupama
Groupama is a motor casco insurance for the Croatia market with online purchase and limited assistance availability.
Direct payment
Groupama may direct repairs to a vehicle within its contracted network of service workshops; if a workshop outside that network is used, the insurer still reimburses reasonable repair costs at the rates usual for the same or similar work and parts in the area where the vehicle is repaired.
Geographic scope
Croatia and other European countries that are members of the Green Card System, including Kosovo
Cover applies while the insured vehicle is located in Croatia or in another European Green Card member country at the time of the insured event, unless otherwise agreed in the policy
Unique selling points
- Damage to a parked vehicle caused by an unknown third party is covered under the standard full casco policy, rather than being excluded as is common with many competitors.
- Theft, robbery and malicious third-party acts are included in the base full casco cover rather than sold as a separate paid combination.
- The voluntary deductible is a fixed amount known in advance and chosen by the customer, giving direct control over the premium level.
- Each claim is assigned a dedicated case handler ('Voditelj obrade štete') who guides the customer through the entire claims process.
- Claims caused by natural perils (storm, hail, flood, earthquake) do not reduce the policyholder's accumulated no-claim bonus.
Coverage limits
Own damage to the insured vehicle
100% of insured sum
The insurer indemnifies established damage in full, up to the value of the insured vehicle or the insured amount stated in the policy (novonabavna vrijednost).
Total loss
100% of insured sum
A loss is treated as total when repair is economically unviable, technically unfeasible, or repair costs equal or exceed 70% of the vehicle's actual value on the date the loss is assessed; indemnity is based on the vehicle's value immediately before the loss, less salvage value.
Partial damage
100% of insured sum
Damage that is not total loss is indemnified on the basis of repair cost, less the value of replaced-part residuals, including disassembly, reassembly and transport costs, subject to any deductible.
Theft and robbery
100% of insured sum
Theft of the insured vehicle or its component parts is covered under the standard (full) casco policy, up to the insured value; keys to the vehicle are explicitly excluded from this cover.
Glass breakage/damage
€2,000
Only in Kombinacija D, Kombinacija E
Breakage or damage to standard-fitted glass (excluding light-fitting and mirror glass) can be separately insured under Combination D (which also covers damage from collision with wildlife or domestic animals) or Combination E (glass only), each capped at EUR 2,000 per insurance year regardless of the number of claims.
Natural perils
100% of insured sum
Storm, hail, snow avalanche, earthquake (seismographically registered at 6+ EMS, all damage within 72 consecutive hours treated as one event), lightning strike, and flood/torrent/high water are covered under the standard full casco policy.
Vandalism and malicious acts
100% of insured sum
Malicious acts or wanton behaviour of third parties causing damage to the insured vehicle are covered under the standard full casco policy.
Roadside assistance (Groupama Asistencija)
€200 – €450
Only in Groupama Asistencija Hrvatska, Groupama Asistencija Regija, Groupama Asistencija Europa
Sold as a separate optional product with three packages (Hrvatska, Regija, Europa) offering a 24/7 contact centre, on-site repair, and vehicle transport/towing capped at EUR 200 / EUR 330 / EUR 450 per policy year respectively depending on package; the Regija and Europa packages also add replacement vehicle, alternative transport and accommodation benefits.
Replacement/rental vehicle costs
Excluded
Replacement vehicle costs are explicitly listed as an excluded indirect loss under the current casco terms; the current partial casco combinations are limited to D and E (glass), so no separately purchasable replacement-vehicle add-on exists under the present terms.
Driver/passenger personal accident cover
Excluded
Personal accident cover for the driver and passengers is not part of the casco product; it is sold as a distinct policy ('Uvjeti za osiguranje osoba od posljedica nesretnog slučaja... za vrijeme upravljanja i vožnje motornim ili drugim vozilima'), typically taken out alongside the MTPL (AO) policy.
Key conditions
Driver age and experience limit
The general terms do not set a minimum driver age or experience threshold for casco cover; they only require that the vehicle be driven by a person holding a valid driving licence of the appropriate category, with an exception for learner drivers under proper supervision.
Repair network requirements
The insurer may direct repairs to a workshop within its contracted service network; if a non-contracted workshop is used, reasonable repair costs are still reimbursed, at the rates usual for the same or similar work and parts in the area where the vehicle is repaired.
Territorial scope
Cover applies while the vehicle is in Croatia and in other European countries that are members of the Green Card System at the time of the insured event, including Kosovo, unless otherwise agreed.
Anti-theft requirements
The insured loses the right to indemnity for theft of the vehicle or equipment if the loss occurred because the vehicle was not locked and closed (for convertibles, with the folding roof down and windows shut) or the theft was otherwise facilitated by the insured.
Claim notification deadline
The insured must notify the insurer immediately, and at the latest within 3 days of learning of the insured event. Theft, aggravated theft, robbery or other unlawful taking of the vehicle/parts must additionally be reported to the police within 24 hours; fire, explosion, collision with an animal (other than a bird), drone strike, snow/ice-fall damage, vandalism affecting 3 or more body panels, and accidents involving injury, death or major material damage must be reported to the police immediately.
Deductible rules
A voluntary deductible in a fixed amount stated on the policy may be agreed at inception; it does not apply to claims from the Natural Perils risk group or to windscreen damage where the glass is repaired rather than replaced with non-original glass. If no voluntary deductible is agreed and more than one claim is made within the same insurance year, a mandatory deductible applies to each subsequent claim as a percentage of the basic premium: 30% for the 2nd claim, 50% for the 3rd, 100% for the 4th, and 200% for the 5th and any further claim, subject to a minimum of EUR 350.
