Unique selling points

  • Earthquake damage is covered under full casco, a peril excluded by many Croatian casco products.
  • A starting no-claims bonus of 50% is granted to first-time Wiener casco policyholders, with a super-bonus of an additional 5% for loyalty.
  • One damage event within a 2-year period does not reduce the accumulated no-claims bonus, protecting long-term policyholders.
  • Vehicles are insured at new-purchase value, meaning claims are settled using the price of new parts regardless of vehicle age.
  • Online claim submission is available 24/7 via the Wiener portal, allowing policyholders to file claims without visiting a branch.

Coverage limits

Own damage (accident)

Covered

Full casco covers all risks that may cause damage, destruction or disappearance of the insured vehicle, including traffic accidents caused by the insured. The insured sum represents the new-purchase value of the vehicle and constitutes the upper limit of the insurer's obligation.

Source

Total loss

Covered

Full casco covers destruction of the insured vehicle. The insured sum (new-purchase value) represents the upper limit of the insurer's obligation in the event of total loss.

Source

Partial loss

Covered

Full casco covers partial damage to the insured vehicle from all non-excluded perils. Partial casco covers only specifically agreed perils (e.g. glass breakage, wildlife collision, fire). The insured sum is the upper limit of the insurer's liability.

Source

Theft and robbery

Covered

Theft of the vehicle is included in the full casco policy and may be excluded at the policyholder's request. No coverage if the vehicle was left unlocked, or if theft was committed by a family member or household member. Coverage up to the insured sum (new-purchase value).

Source

Glass damage

Covered

Damage to standard fitted glass on the vehicle (excluding lights and mirrors) is covered under full casco and available as a standalone partial casco peril. Coverage up to the agreed insured sum.

Source

Natural perils (storm, hail, flood, lightning, avalanche, aircraft fall)

Covered

Full casco covers basic natural perils: fire, lightning strike, explosion, storm, hail, snow avalanche, aircraft fall, flood, torrential rain and high water. Earthquake damage is also covered. Damage from falling snow/ice from buildings is also included as an optional partial casco extension.

Source

Vandalism

Covered

Vandalism is covered under full casco as part of all risks that may cause damage not explicitly excluded by the policy conditions. Referenced as one of the covered perils on the official product page.

Source

Roadside assistance (auto-assistance)

Optional

Auto-assistance is available as an optional add-on to casco insurance. Depending on the package selected, it covers: on-site vehicle repair, vehicle towing, replacement vehicle (up to 7 days, C-segment), accommodation, or vehicle delivery after repair. Available 24/7, 365 days a year. Response within 45 minutes.

Source

Replacement vehicle

Optional

Replacement vehicle (C-segment, up to 7 days) is available to policyholders (natural and legal persons) who have contracted a product or combination that includes this coverage. It is offered as part of the auto-assistance add-on or as a separate optional coverage for rental costs during the repair period following a covered loss.

Source

Driver and passenger accident insurance

Optional

Optional supplementary coverage for consequences of an accident occurring to the driver and passengers in the insured vehicle, available as an add-on to the casco policy. Insured sum is specified in the policy.

Key conditions

driver_age_experience_limit

If the vehicle was driven by a person of a different age group than the policyholder (owner) named on the policy, the claim payment is reduced by the difference in premium that would have been charged had the insured belonged to the driver's age group.

repair_network_requirements

The vehicle may be repaired abroad in accordance with Wiener's damage assessment. Invoices for vehicles owned by leasing companies must be submitted to the leasing company as the vehicle owner. No exclusive repair network is mandated, but repair must be consistent with the insurer's survey.

territorial_scope

Coverage is valid in the Republic of Croatia and all other countries that are members of the Green Card System, including Kosovo, and excluding Morocco and Tunisia.

anti_theft_requirements

No coverage for theft or break-in if the vehicle was left unlocked. No coverage if theft was committed by the insured's spouse or common-law partner, relatives in direct line, siblings, or any other person living in the same household.

claim_notification_deadline

The policyholder/insured must notify Wiener of the loss event immediately upon becoming aware of it and make available all data and evidence regarding the circumstances of the damage. In cases of theft, explosion, fire or wildlife collision, the event must also be reported to the police. The claim processing period is 30 days for casco losses, with payment within 14 days of settlement.

deductible_rules

Voluntary deductible (franchise) may be agreed, resulting in a premium discount. If no voluntary deductible is chosen and multiple claims are filed in the same insurance year, a mandatory deductible applies from the second claim onward: 200 EUR for the 2nd claim, 400 EUR for the 3rd, 800 EUR for the 4th, and 1,600 EUR for the 5th and each subsequent claim. Choosing a voluntary deductible avoids the escalating mandatory deductible.
