Key conditions

Assistance call deadline

The insured must contact the insurer or its duty assistance center (Europ Assistance, +36 1 458 44 36) immediately after the insured event occurs, before taking any further action. In exceptional cases and force majeure situations, the insured must notify the insurer as soon as possible and provide reasons for any delay.

Unauthorized treatment

If the insured did not follow the instructions of the duty center (Articles 17(1), 17(2), and 17(3)), the insurer will reimburse eligible costs from Article 15 only after the insured has provided reasons for non-compliance and the insurer has established its obligation. Costs for unauthorized self-arranged repatriation not approved by the insurer and duty center are not covered.

Purchase while abroad

The insurance contract must be concluded exclusively before the start of the journey. Purchase while already abroad is not possible. The insurer's obligation begins no earlier than when the insured crosses the state border upon departure from the Republic of Croatia.

Chronic conditions

Chronic diseases and their consequences are excluded if they existed or were known at the time of policy conclusion. Additionally, diseases treated in the 6 months prior to the start of insurance, including their consequences, are excluded. The insurer always guarantees assistance in life-threatening situations even if the underlying cause falls under an exclusion.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy and all its consequences or complications are generally excluded, including intentional termination, childbirth, and miscarriage. Exception: in case of acute complications during pregnancy, the insurer covers the cost of the first medical intervention necessary to eliminate danger to the life of the mother and/or child, only if the pregnant woman is under 35 years of age and the 28th week of pregnancy has not been completed.

pre_existing_conditions

Pre-existing conditions (chronic diseases existing or known at policy conclusion, and any diseases treated within the 6 months prior to the insurance start date, including their consequences) are excluded from coverage. Travelers with pre-existing conditions should be aware that only genuine life-threatening emergencies may trigger the insurer's guaranteed assistance clause.

coverage_duration_limit

For the annual policy variant, the insurance duration is exclusively one year, with the condition that each individual trip by the insured must not exceed 30 days. For short-term (single-trip) policies, the maximum duration is 366 days.
