Direct payment

The premium, including taxes and contributions, must be paid electronically in advance at subscription. If the subscriber provides official proof that the requested visa was refused, AXA Assistance will refund the cost of the contract, excluding transaction and money-transfer/exchange fees.

Key conditions

Assistance call deadline

The insured must contact AXA Assistance's 24/7 call centre as soon as a situation appears to involve costs falling within the guarantees, and before any intervention is organized; assistance arranged without AXA Assistance's prior agreement gives no right to later reimbursement.

Unauthorized treatment

Any service refused by the insured or organized without AXA Assistance's agreement does not give rise to any subsequent reimbursement or indemnity.

Purchase while abroad

The contract must be purchased before leaving the country of residence; the insured's destination cannot be their own country of residence, and contracts taken out while the insured is already within the Schengen area are excluded.

Chronic conditions

Any fact, event or medical condition known to the insured before the booking date, including relapse or worsening of a pre-existing pathological condition, is excluded from cover.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy diagnosis, monitoring, childbirth and voluntary termination are excluded, along with any pregnancy beyond 28 weeks, except for a distinct complication that could not have been foreseen before week 28.
