Regulatory updates
In 2024, the Czech National Bank (ČNB) conducted supervisory proceedings against UNIQA pojišťovna (case S-Sp-2024/00151) concerning shortcomings in the prudent management of the company, including inconsistencies in the calculation of technical reserves under Solvency II following the 2021 merger with the Czech and Slovak AXA entities; the company accepted the findings and committed to remedial measures. Additionally, the predecessor AXA životní pojišťovna (now part of UNIQA) was fined by the ČNB in 2019 for improper telephone sales practices.
