Regulatory updates
safeAway A/S, registered with Finanstilsynet as an insurance agency for Belgium's Inter Partner Assistance SA (AXA Group) and a member of Ankenævnet for Forsikring, ceased selling new travel insurance policies in July 2021 after eight years on the Danish market, citing a sharp drop in revenue caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, while maintaining service (24-hour emergency assistance and claims handling) for existing policyholders. The safeaway.dk domain was later acquired by a third party (Bermann & Rosenberg Media ApS) and, since December 2023, has operated as an independent travel-safety guide and, as of August 2026, a travel insurance comparison site — it is no longer operated by the original insurer.
