Regulatory updates
In May 2018, the FIN-FSA appointed an authorised representative (Pekka Jaatinen) to oversee Pohjantähti's ongoing activities following governance concerns related to an extraordinary general meeting held in October 2017. That oversight ended on 10 February 2020, with the FIN-FSA concluding that management of the company's affairs had evolved such that grounds for continued oversight no longer existed. A related criminal investigation targeted a small number of individuals (not the company itself), leading to charges against several people in 2019; the company stated the matter did not affect its operations or customer relationships. Pohjantähti has since continued to report strong solvency (well above 270% at points) and steady growth, and remains supervised by Finanssivalvonta under normal ongoing supervision.
