Regulatory updates
BaFin granted Neodigital Autoversicherung AG a license to operate motor insurance in late February 2023, and the company launched its first Kfz products (NEO S, NEO M, NEO L) on 15 March 2023. In 2025 HUK-COBURG progressively increased its stake from an initial 51% to 81% and, following clearance by the Bundeskartellamt (case B9-46/25, approved 7 April 2025), announced on 3 June 2025 that it would acquire 100% of Neodigital Autoversicherung AG, with Neodigital Versicherung AG and HUK-COBURG jointly founding an IT services venture, NDA Tech GmbH. By mid-2026 Neodigital Autoversicherung AG (now over 165,000 insured vehicles) had also filed with the Bundeskartellamt to acquire the insolvent fleet-insurance service provider Hector Digital GmbH. Separately, its former joint-venture partner and distributor Neodigital Versicherung AG surrendered its own BaFin license for property/casualty business in July 2026, transferring that non-motor policy book to Adam Riese (W&W Group) and refocusing on Insurance-as-a-Service.
