Regulatory updates
Generali Biztosító Zrt. is licensed and supervised by the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) under activity licence No. 09/1990. In January 2022, the MNB imposed a fine of HUF 37 million on Generali following a comprehensive inspection that identified deficiencies in MTPL and unit-linked policy management, claims handling, IT security, remuneration policy, product pricing, complaint handling, and client information. The regulator noted that the identified violations did not fundamentally threaten the company's long-term reliable operation. As of 2026, the insurer remains active and in good standing with the MNB.
