AXA Assicurazioni S.p.A. is registered in the IVASS Register of Insurance Companies (Albo Imprese IVASS no. 1.00025) and is the head company of the AXA Italia insurance group (Albo Gruppi IVASS no. 041). Key 2025–2026 regulatory developments include: (1) the Insurance Arbitrator (Arbitro Assicurativo) became operational on 15 January 2026 for out-of-court consumer dispute resolution, with the first panel decisions published in July 2026; (2) IVASS Provvedimento n. 163/2025 amended Regulations 40 and 41 to require insurers and intermediaries to provide information on the Arbitro Assicurativo on their websites and policy documents by 14 January 2026; (3) mandatory catastrophe (Nat Cat) insurance for businesses under Law 213/2023 and implementing Decree-Law 39/2025 (converted into Law 78/2025), requiring AXA to offer mandatory coverage for natural disasters and catastrophic events for commercial real estate; (4) IVASS opened a public consultation in June 2026 on amendments to Regulation 36/2017 for catastrophe and medical liability reporting; (5) from 16 July 2026, insurance for electric scooters in circulation became mandatory under a MIMIT circular of 17 April 2026; and (6) IVASS Regulation No. 55/2024 on fit-and-proper requirements for insurers continues to apply.
