Glass damage | Covered | The ALTERNATYVUS package does not include glass damage without deductible (Nr. 8 in the standard packages table). Glass damage without deductible (Nr. 8.1 – windscreen/headlight, Nr. 8.2 – all glass) is available only in the Pagrindinis (basic) and Išplėstinis (extended) packages respectively. Under the ALTERNATYVUS package, any applicable deductible is always applied without exception (clause 3.6). | Covered | Covered |
Natural perils | unlimited | Under the ALTERNATYVUS package, natural perils (Nr. 22/23 – hail, storm, lightning, animal collision without deductible) are NOT included. These zero-deductible coverages are available only in the Išplėstinis (extended) package. Under ALTERNATYVUS, the deductible always applies without any exceptions whatsoever (clause 3.6). Standard all-risks vehicle coverage (Nr. 3) is included in all packages including ALTERNATYVUS as traffic accident and theft are defined covered perils. | Covered | Covered |
Vandalism | unlimited | Under the ALTERNATYVUS package, damage caused by third-party unlawful acts is covered only if it constitutes a traffic accident meeting all conditions of clause 2.1 (collision with another vehicle, person, or animal; insured controller liable under MTPL; police report or accident declaration completed). Pure vandalism (e.g. scratch without traffic accident) is not covered under ALTERNATYVUS as only the events in clauses 2.1 and 2.2 are insured events. | Covered | Covered |

Driver age experience limit | If the vehicle was driven by a person with less driving experience than specified in the insurance contract, the damage is not compensated. An exception applies to the first insured event only, but an additional unconditional deductible of EUR 500 is applied for that first event. | For natural persons, minimum driver age and minimum driving experience are always relevant for insurance coverage. If the person operating the vehicle does not meet the criteria specified in the insurance contract, restrictions on insurance coverage may apply or it may affect the amount of the insurance payout. These criteria must be agreed upon, assessed, and specified in the contract in advance. | No minimum driver age is stated in the policy rules. However, if the driver's experience (licence tenure for the relevant vehicle category) at the time of the insured event is less than specified in the insurance contract, the deductible is tripled (but not less than 50% of the loss amount). The required minimum experience is defined per individual contract. | The policy must specify a driver group with minimum age and experience requirements. If an accident occurs when a driver younger or with less experience than specified in the contract is driving, an additional excess of 250 EUR applies for the first event (or 500 EUR if both conditions are violated). Subsequent events with such a driver are treated as non-insured events and no payout is made. |
Repair network requirements | Under the with-depreciation variant BTA selects the repair workshop and applies non-original or used parts prices. If the policyholder chooses a different workshop the indemnity is reduced to the amount for which BTAs recommended workshop could have performed the repair. Under the without-depreciation variant the policyholder may choose any repair workshop and new original parts prices apply, provided purchase invoices are submitted. Damage is not compensated based on independent valuator reports. If reparable parts need not be replaced, only repair not replacement is accepted. | The policyholder may choose between repair at the insurer-selected partner workshop ('Remontas Draudiko pasirinkimu') or the policyholder's own choice of workshop ('Remontas Draudėjo pasirinkimu') in Lithuania. If repair is performed outside the insurer's selected workshop, the loss amount is determined by the insurer based on its established hourly rates and parts prices. Under the ALTERNATYVUS package, payment for damage (other than total loss or theft) is made only based on documents confirming actual repair costs; without such documents, payment may only be made with insurer's consent. | Policyholder may choose either an ERGO-approved repair company or their own chosen repair company (registered in Lithuania, with hourly rates at average market level for the vehicle's age and brand). If the contract stipulates repair must be done at an ERGO-approved shop and the policyholder uses their own shop, the calculated benefit is reduced by 20%. | For Midi and Mini variants, repairs must be performed at insurer-nominated workshops listed on www.gjensidige.lt. For the Maxi variant, the policyholder may choose their own repair workshop, but must notify the insurer in writing before repair begins, stating the workshop name. If the policyholder refuses insurer-nominated workshops or orders an independent assessment without written agreement, the loss will be calculated according to the insurer's workshop rates and time standards. |
Territorial scope | The insurance contract is valid in the territory indicated in the policy certificate. When Europe is indicated coverage applies in Lithuania and a listed set of European countries including Belarus, Russia European part west of the Ural mountains, Turkey European part, Ukraine and others. Coverage territory is selected at policy inception. | Coverage is always valid only in the geographic territory specified in the contract. Two options: (1) 'Europa (su išimtimis)' – EU member states (excl. UK and Ireland), Norway, Switzerland, Belarus, and Kaliningrad Oblast; (2) 'Geografinė Europa' – geographic Europe. If an insured event occurs outside Lithuania, vehicle may be repaired only to the extent necessary to ensure safe return to Lithuania, up to a maximum of 3,000 EUR, without prior written agreement with the insurer. | Casco and passenger accident insurance: geographic European territory. Roadside assistance: either Lithuanian Republic territory only or geographic European territory, as specified in the insurance certificate. The insurance certificate specifies the exact territorial scope. | Coverage is valid in the territory indicated in the policy: Lithuania only, or Europe (defined list of countries). The European territory does not include Belarus, Russia, or Ukraine per the IPID. Roadside assistance under package '4x4' is valid only in Lithuania; under '4x4 Turbo' it is valid across the defined European territory. |
Anti theft requirements | If the vehicle is stolen using the original ignition key or original anti-theft control devices the indemnity is not paid. After loss or disappearance of ignition keys or alarm remote controls, theft cover ceases until locks and or alarm are replaced and BTA is notified in writing. Alarm and other security systems must be repaired or replaced when malfunctioning. If registration documents, ignition keys, spare keys or alarm remotes were left in the vehicle and this facilitated the theft, the indemnity is reduced by up to 50%. | Before the start of the insurance coverage period, the policyholder must install anti-theft protection systems meeting the insurer's requirements and ensure their proper functioning. Coverage for theft is excluded if: (1) the vehicle was not locked at the time of theft or attempted theft; (2) the required anti-theft protection system was not installed or was not activated/functioning; (3) ignition keys, smart cards, or anti-theft device remote controls were left in the vehicle at the time of theft. The required protection system level is specified in the contract, with details published at www.compensa.lt. | No compensation is payable for theft of the vehicle or its parts if: (1) the ignition or door keys were left in the vehicle; or (2) the security system (alarm) specified in the contract was not activated, not operational, or not installed. Additionally, all keys and alarm remote controls must be presented to the insurer following a theft claim. If keys were stolen from the policyholder's home during a break-in, replacement of keys/locks/security codes is covered up to 600 EUR. | For theft coverage to be valid, the vehicle must have an operating anti-theft system at the required protection level (Levels 1–4 defined in Table 2 of the T&C). The required level is stated in the policy certificate. A certificate from an authorised installer confirming the system meets the required level must be provided, issued no later than the policy effective date. Coverage is void if: the system was not activated or malfunctioning; the level was insufficient; GPRS/GSM tracking system contract conditions were violated; the vehicle was left unlocked, with windows open, or with keys/remotes inside. |
Claim notification deadline | The policyholder must notify BTA immediately but no later than within 3 working days of the occurrence of the possible insured event. For vehicle theft the deadline is 1 working day for initial notification followed by submission of a written report and keys within 3 working days. Competent authorities such as police or fire brigade must also be notified immediately. If notification is given late the policyholder must prove that timely notification was not possible for objective reasons. | For any insured event, the policyholder must contact the insurer immediately, but no later than within 3 business days, by calling 19111 or via compensa.lt website. In case of theft of the vehicle or its parts, or damage/destruction: relevant state authorities must be notified immediately (without leaving the scene). The deductible from the claim notification deadline: if the policyholder deliberately or through gross negligence fails to notify within the terms and this failure influenced loss increase or prevented the insurer from establishing event circumstances, the insurer may reduce or deny the payout. | Every insured event must be reported to the insurer within 7 calendar days (via phone, email or in writing). Vehicle theft must be reported within 48 hours from the moment the policyholder or their representative became aware of it. If an accident resulted in death, the insurer must also be notified within 3 calendar days (72 hours). | The policyholder must notify the insurer of an insured event immediately, but no later than within 3 (three) business days (by phone: 1626 in Lithuania, +370 5 272 1626 from abroad, or via the self-service portal www.gjensidige.lt). Failure to notify within the deadline may result in a reduction or denial of the claim payout, unless the insurer learned of the event in time through other means. For roadside assistance, notification must be made immediately from the scene by phone. |
Deductible rules | A deductible as specified in the policy certificate applies to insured events. If multiple deductible types apply to the same risk the larger one prevails. The deductible is waived if BTA can recover the full loss from a Lithuanian MTPL insurer, or the event in Lithuania was caused by a proven third-party fault with sufficient recovery documents, or the event occurred outside Lithuania and the at-fault party had a green card MTPL policy covering full indemnity. For mutual fault events the deductible is applied proportionately. A special glass breakage deductible applies when glass is replaced not repaired. A percentage deductible no less than the unconditional deductible applies for theft. An additional unconditional deductible of EUR 500 applies if the vehicle was driven by a less-experienced driver for the first event only. An additional deductible of up to EUR 300 may apply if required vehicle photos were not submitted. | Under the ALTERNATYVUS package, the deductible specified in the contract is applied in ALL cases for ALL insured events without any exceptions or special situations (clause 3.6). For vehicle theft: a percentage deductible applies (as specified in the contract), but never less than the fixed deductible amount. For other events (damage/destruction): the fixed deductible specified in the contract applies. No deductible waivers are available under the ALTERNATYVUS package. In standard packages: the deductible is waived if the lawful controller is not at fault and the liable party is identified (subrogation possible). | A deductible (franchize) is set per vehicle and per insured event as specified in the insurance certificate. Typical deductibles: 100 EUR or 150 EUR for vehicle damage; 5% or 10% of loss for theft. No deductible applies when: (1) the event was not the policyholder's fault and the insurer acquires subrogation rights; (2) paintless dent repair (bedažis lyginimas) is used; (3) glass chip repair without glass replacement; (4) additional expenses listed in section 5.1–5.15; (5) roadside assistance events; (6) passenger accident events. If the driver's experience is below contract minimum, deductible is tripled (min 50% of loss). A 20% benefit reduction applies if the policyholder repairs at their own shop when the contract requires ERGO's shop. | A mandatory deductible (besąlyginė išskaita) applies to each claim and is deducted from the loss amount. The deductible amount is stated in the policy certificate. The deductible is NOT applied in the following cases: (1) 'Deductible waiver if culprit identified' – when a recognised at-fault third party (Lithuanian citizen, Lithuanian-registered legal entity, foreign national residing permanently in Lithuania, or party with applicable insurance) is identified and the insurer acquires subrogation rights; if both parties are at fault, deductible applies proportionally; (2) 'Glass damage' condition – when only glass is damaged and repaired/replaced at nominated workshops; (3) Benefits under clauses 7.14–7.22 (single-event ancillary benefits). An additional excess of 250 EUR (or 500 EUR if both conditions breached) applies when a driver not meeting the contract's age/experience requirements causes an accident during the first policy year. |

Direct payment policy | BTA pays the insurance indemnity no later than 15 days from the day all information necessary to establish the insured event fact, circumstances, consequences and indemnity amount is received. At the policyholder choice, indemnity for total loss or theft may be paid in cash or by transferring an equivalent vehicle. BTA organises repairs at approved workshops and pays repair costs directly; VAT is included only if the vehicle is actually repaired and VAT has been paid and the claimant has no right to VAT deduction. | Insurer pays repair costs directly to the repair workshop; claims can be submitted online at compensa.lt or by phone 19111. Payment is made within 10 business days of receiving all required information and documentation. | Insurer pays repair costs directly to the repair shop in most cases; for glass-only damage, tyre damage, or parts theft, payment is made only after repair and submission of payment documents. Payment is made to the policyholder or beneficiary named in the contract. | Repairs must generally be carried out at insurer-approved workshops listed on gjensidige.lt. Under the Maxi variant, the policyholder may choose their own repair workshop (prior written notification required). For Mini and Midi variants, repair must be at an insurer-nominated workshop. Compensation is paid based on documented repair invoices. If repairs are not carried out or invoices not provided, loss is assessed without VAT. |
