Joint Stock Insurance Company OZK-Insurance AD
OZK-Insurance AD (formerly Municipal Insurance Company AD) is one of the first licensed non-life insurers in Bulgaria, founded on 27 December 1996 with Sofia Municipality as majority shareholder. Privatised in 2008, it is now majority-owned by Bulgarian businessman Hristo Kovachki through EL EM IMPEX. The company holds licences for 12 classes of general non-life insurance and operates over 70 locations nationwide including 13 claims centres.

Regulatory updates
OZK-Insurance remains an active licensed non-life insurer under FSC supervision with insurer code BG-23. In 2024 the FSC approved management changes at the company. In 2026 the company successfully completed ISO 45001:2018 certification for occupational health and safety management. The forthcoming Bulgarian euro adoption (EU Council decision of 08 July 2025) requires the company to communicate currency conversion information to policyholders.
