Regulatory updates
Allianz Cyprus operates as a licensed EU branch (place of incorporation: Greece) under the Insurance Association of Cyprus (IAC) full member listing, authorized to transact Life, Accident, Land Vehicles, Goods in Transit, Fire and Natural Forces, Other Damage to Property, Motor Vehicle Liability, General Liability and Suretyship classes. In 2025 its Greek parent completed a legal merger between Allianz Hellas and Ευρωπαϊκή Πίστη, approved by the Bank of Greece, consolidating operations that also serve the Cyprus branch. Separately, in 2026 National Bank of Greece signed a Memorandum of Understanding to acquire a 30% minority stake in Allianz European Reliance (Allianz Greece) alongside an exclusive bancassurance partnership. In Cyprus, Allianz became the first Main Event Sponsor of FIBA EuroBasket 2025.
