Balcia Insurance SE is an international non-life insurance technology company originally established in Latvia in 1993 (as Baltijas Transporta apdrošināšana, later BTA), operating today in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. In Estonia the company operates through its branch, Balcia Insurance SE Eesti filiaal, registered in Tallinn in 2023, offering lifestyle-based non-life insurance products such as motor, home, accident, travel and civil liability insurance via web and mobile app subscription.

BAN is a Latvian non-life insurance joint-stock company established in 2000 and headquartered in Riga. Based on its experience in the Latvian market, the company has offered travel insurance services in Estonia under freedom to provide services since 2011/2012, sold online via its ban.ee website without a physical branch office in Estonia.
