Regulatory updates
Allianz Deutschland AG is under ongoing BaFin supervision. BaFin's 2026 supervisory priorities (Risks in Focus 2026) place particular emphasis on cybersecurity, market stability, and enhanced conduct-of-business oversight including product governance and distribution. From January 2025, BaFin acts as national hub under DORA, requiring insurers to complete ICT governance and risk management build-outs. BaFin revised its MaRisk in 2025 with a ninth amendment on ESG risk management, due in force summer 2026. BaFin defined new strategic objectives for 2026–2029, focusing on stability, fairness, and proportionate regulation. Additionally, BaFin continues to warn consumers against fraudulent entities misusing the Allianz name. In June 2026, Allianz announced plans for all product categories under the new Altersvorsorgereformgesetz (pension reform), effective January 2027, including Altersvorsorgedepot and new state-subsidised retirement products.
