Regulatory updates
HUK-COBURG is regulated by BaFin (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht). In 2023, BaFin granted a license to Neodigital Autoversicherung AG, a joint venture between HUK-COBURG Holding AG and Neodigital Versicherung AG, to operate as a motor vehicle insurer in Germany. In 2024, BaFin demanded that HUK-COBURG reduce its backlog in claims processing as quickly as possible, following reports of processing delays after major natural catastrophe events. In 2025, the BaFin also granted HUK-COBURG-Krankenversicherung AG consent for cross-border direct insurance business in additional countries.
