WGV and its group companies remain supervised by BaFin (Graurheindorfer Str. 108, 53117 Bonn). According to BaFin's 2023 complaint statistics reviewed by third-party analysts, WGV received only three complaints in its legal-expenses line against a portfolio of about 495,113 policies, a complaint ratio of 0.6 per 100,000 contracts, while its building insurance line had three complaints against 130,720 contracts (2.3 per 100,000), slightly above the industry average of 1.7. Independent rating agency Franke und Bornberg rated WGV's OPTIMAL legal-expenses tariff "sehr gut" (very good) in 2025, and ServiceValue's 2024 fairness survey gave WGV an overall "gut" (good) rating for legal-expenses and building insurance.
