Regulatory updates
Interamerican is supervised by the Bank of Greece, which has held responsibility for private insurance supervision since Law 3867/2010. In 2024, Interamerican published its 13th Sustainability Report, embedding ESG criteria into its business model and becoming the first Greek insurer to develop a Sustainable Insurance Framework. As of early 2025, the Greek Ministry of Finance established an informal legislative committee — with participation from the Bank of Greece and the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies (HAEIC/ΕΑΕΕ) — to transpose EU Directive 2025/2 (Solvency II review) into Greek law. In 2025, reports also emerged of ongoing negotiations for a potential acquisition of Interamerican by the National Bank of Greece from parent Achmea.
