Regulatory updates
The acquisition of a c. 77% majority stake in Ydrogios by Reale Group was completed on 19 February 2024, following regulatory approval by the Bank of Greece. The deal was agreed in July 2023 with the Kaskarelis family, with Reale Mutua planning a further closing (up to c. 80% total) by 2026. From 1 January 2025, private insurance supervision in Greece is exercised by the renamed Directorate for the Supervision of Professional and Private Insurance (DEEIA), formerly the Directorate for the Supervision of Private Insurance (DEIA), under the Bank of Greece.
