Regulatory updates
In December 2021, the MNB concluded a comprehensive investigation of Genertel Biztosító and imposed a combined fine of HUF 22 million (HUF 21 million supervisory fine and HUF 1 million consumer protection fine) for deficiencies in the control of outsourced activities, MTPL/casco claims handling and portfolio management; the company was ordered to report on remediation measures by April 2022. The violations were stated not to affect the company's reliable operation. Genertel also received MNB approval to market Qualified Consumer-Friendly Home Insurance (MFO) products.
