Regulatory updates
In December 2024, the MNB imposed a total supervisory and consumer protection fine of more than HUF 14.5 million on UNION Vienna Insurance Group Biztosító Zrt. following a comprehensive audit covering the period from 15 June 2021. Violations were found in unit-linked life insurance investment practices, product oversight and governance, insurance contract content, outsourcing arrangements, motor claims settlement, customer information, and complaints handling. The company was required to report on corrective measures by 31 May 2025. The MNB stated that the identified deficiencies do not threaten the safe operation of the insurer. The insurer operates under MNB licence H-EN-II-113/2016.
