Allianz S.p.A. is the Italian subsidiary of the German multinational Allianz SE, formed in October 2007 through the merger of RAS (Riunione Adriatica di Sicurtà), Lloyd Adriatico, and Allianz Subalpina. From 1 January 2026 it also incorporated Allianz Next S.p.A. It is one of Italy's leading insurers, operating with over 4,700 employees serving approximately 8 million customers through a nationwide agency network, bancassurance agreements, and the direct insurer Allianz Direct S.p.A.

Regulatory updates
On 21 October 2025, IVASS (Provvedimento n. 0211214) authorized the merger by incorporation of Allianz Next S.p.A. into Allianz S.p.A., effective 1 January 2026. On 9 December 2024, IVASS authorized the total transfer of the insurance portfolio from TUA Assicurazioni S.p.A. to Allianz Viva S.p.A. (Provvedimento n. 0265867). In February 2026 (Provvedimento Sanzionatorio Prot. n. 39201/26 del 24 febbraio 2026), IVASS issued a sanction of €30,000 against Allianz S.p.A. for failure to accept, within the required 60-day deadline, customer requests for access to motor claims files. Allianz S.p.A. is duly licensed and active (Albo Imprese n. 1.00152); no non-compliance is currently reported on its official website.
