Regulatory updates
ASF-published market data confirm Fidelidade retained its position as Portugal's insurance market leader through 2025 and into H1 2026. In its full-year 2025 results, Fidelidade reported group profits of over €200 million (up 16%), with a Portuguese market share of 28.1% in total gross written premiums (29.6% in Non-Life, 26.7% in Life). ECOseguros/ASF data for H1 2026 show Fidelidade further increasing its market share to 30.2% of premiums, adding the largest absolute premium growth of any operator. In October 2025 Fitch reaffirmed Fidelidade's insurer financial strength rating at A+, citing a stable ~29% market share and strong capitalisation. Separately, in September 2026 a former president of the insurance regulator (then ISP, predecessor of ASF) filed a lawsuit against Fidelidade and Generali in the Competition, Regulation and Supervision Court, related to leniency information the insurers gave the Competition Authority in the 'seguros cartel' case.
